How fun is that?
So here is a picture of my project:

I went rummaging through my junk drawers to find something I could use to recycle and decided to use some magnets I found in the drawer.
I used the Cricut Everyday Cart to make the cuts  at 3. 50
I then glued them to the magnet pieces and added twine, Glossy accents for the Gypsy screen
and black beads for eyes on the Cricut head.

Here are the magnets I got at a collectible show almost 10 years ago.

Next stop.... Go see what Tammy http://bowmancrafts.blogspot.com/ has in store for you today... And when you're done with the Cricut crawl
make sure to link up your project to FCCB's Fantabulous Cricut Crawl post to be entered into the contest!

Lasting Memories challenge "Time for a Treasure"

It's time for another fun layout challenge at Lasting Memories.  This week the challenge is "Time for a Treasure".  At  first I thought I would go with the typical and scrapbook my granddaughters who are absolutely by far the greatest treasures of my life.  But then I decided to do something a little different.  I live in Southern California and I really treasure where I live.  I have grown up in a beach town and I love it.  I am thrilled my girls and granddaughters also live in California and we all love the beach.
For my cut files I used these adorable bears from Paper Craftin World designed by Melin.
Here is a closup of the little boy bear
Closeup of the little girl

This is the prize donated by Julie this week so hope you will join us
If you love sketches here is a great one you can try.  Remember you don't have to use the sketch but you must follow the theme  "Time for a Treasure." You have until Saturday May 6th to link up at Lasting Memories.

Guest Design Post for Memories in Time -Double page layout

I am so excited that Lynda from Memories in Tyme has asked me to be a guest designer this month.  I am lucky to be in a group Lynda started to do blog hops once or twice a month.  I love working with Lynda and all the other talented ladies.
I hope you will join us for these great blog hops.

For my project I did a double page layout.  I saw a post on facebook with this quote and thought it was so adorable and perfect for a layout.
"Children are the rainbow of life.  Grandchildren are the pot of gold"
I used Mambi paper I got in a stack from Joann's.
I started with background cloud paper and added some striped Mambi paper.
The flower paper is a cut from Elegant Edges page 23 cut at 11 inches and then cut in 1/2
The rainbow and clouds are from the Noah's ABC page 84.The rainbow was cut at 3 inches and the clouds at 8 inches.
The pot of gold is from Simply Charmed page 33 cut at 5 inches.
I then printed the quote on red, blue and yellow paper and cut the words apart and matted them with black paper. These are pop dotted on a rainbow ribbons I've had in my stash.
The clouds are also embossed and popdotted for dimension.
Hope you enjoyed my layout.  Thanks again Lynda for having me.
Also entering this in the Candy land Challenge at Child's Play- I used the bright colors and the squares for the quote reminded me of the board squares.

Cooking with Cricut Challenge- Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend- Bling it on

I am really excited to share my card with you all this week for the Cooking with Cricut Challenge.  This week the challenge is Diamonds are a Girls Best Friend or Bling it On.  For my card I selected to use this cute little bear from Paper Crafting World.  This is my second card with my new Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  I have a lot to learn about using the markers but I like the way this cutie patootie bear came out with her roses.
The frame was cut from Elegant Edges page 22 using the Oblong frame and shadow. The frame was embossed with a 5 x 7 rose embossing folder to match the roses.
I added some gems to bling out the roses and the frame.
The stamp sentiment was $1 at Michaels and says "You make me so very happy"
I used the center cut of the frame on the inside of the card for my writing and sentiment.
For now the inside is blank so I can use it for almost any occasion.
(Sorry I forgot to take a pic of the inside)
For the ribbon I used cream seam binding and the same seam binding colored with Glimmer Mist.
I hope you will join us this week for the Cooking with Cricut challenge and bling out your projects.
Also check out all the great digital stamps, paper piecing patterns and page kits Melin has designed for your crafting pleasure.

Bun in the Oven layout for ultrasound picture

Today I have a layout I made the other day for a challenge at Child's Play. based on the Easy Bake Oven and also Amanda's Scrap and More Getting Scrappy Challenge use a banner or pennant.
Right away I remembered an idea I saw at a scrapbook expo of a baby ultrasound in and oven.  So I got out my From the Kitchen cart and made an oven to fit the untrasound picture my daughter just got.  Then I cut out the cute little prego lady from New Arrival.  The banner is from Birthday Bash and the letters are Nursery Rhymes. At the bottom I used some little alphabet beads and a heart button to make a little banner that says !st Photo.  I kept the background generic blues, pinks and greens and yellows since we don't know if its a boy or girl yet.
So my first page of grandbaby #4 album has begun.

Katie on her bike
Kenzie on her bike

I also made these layouts using the same titles and a 9 inch circle form Accent Essentials, and the tricycle cut at 3 inches.  I used buttons and paper with circles to fit with the wheels.

Lasting Memories Stencil those Layouts

This week at Lasting Memories the layout challenge is to "Stencil those Layouts."  Dig out those stencils and show us how you use them on your layouts. These are my two layout pages I did using paper and embellishments from Quick Quotes.

I covered the center of my page with cheap white paper to protect from over spray.  I laid out chipboard pieces and butterflies for design.

I also used the punched out pieces.

I sprayed over pieces using  a lime and lavender Glimmer Mist spray.
I then added some more chipboard pieces and embellishments to complete the layout.
I hope you will join us for the challenge this week and show us how you use stencils on your layout
Here is the awesome inspirational sketch for this week if you would like to use it.  Remember you do not have to use the sketch for the challenge. Check out the Lasting Memories Blog for the prize this week.

PWC and CWC Home Decor Blog Hop-There's no place like home

Welcome to Paper Crafting World (http://www.papercraftingworld.com) and Cooking With Cricut’s (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) Home Décor Blog Hop!  Our Design Teams are so excited to bring you a two-day hop that focuses on projects for your home – that’s right no cards or scrapbook layouts in this hop!  You should have arrived here from visiting Kimmi - http://www.impressivelyyours.blogspot.com/  at.  If you’ve joined us in mid-Hop and would like to check out all the other fantastic projects head on over Melinda’s Paper Crafting World   (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) and start at the beginning.

I am so excited about my project today. I got this bird cage on sale and planned to make a Spring Floral bouquet inside with some birds and butterflies. When I sat down to start with my Giant Flowers cartridge I decided I wanted to try the Poppy since it is the California state flower.
Well from there the next thing I knew I was doing an Oz theme and I finally cut into my Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz paper. I love Graphic 45 paper but it is always hard for me to cut into it for the first time.

Graphic 45 Wizard of Oz paper and chipboard pieces
Pieces are fussy cut "hand cut"
Poppys cut from Giant Flowers Cricut cart 4", 3 " and 2 1/2 "
Inked with Quick Quotes Ink
Oz is the castle from Happily Ever After cut at 8 "  4 times
Dorothy's red shoe is from Princess Party and then I hand pieced the toe to fill it in.
Yellow brick road is hand cut and embossed with Cuttlebug
The base is green oasis and the mountain is made with torn paper grocery bag and glued to base
Adhesives- Glue gun, Pop dots,  Dots, and Tacky glue
Ribbon was blue and white check to match Dorothy's dress
I wanted it to match Graphic 45 muted checks so rubbed Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink on both sides.
The last item was a red ruby slippers pin I have had for years that a friend gave me that I pinned to the ribbon.
I am also entering this in the Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge " Center of Attention"
and the Pink Cricut linking party
Craft Junkie Too linking party
Also linked to Passionately Artistic linking party

We hope you’ll link up your Home Décor project for a chance at winning one of our giveaways.  One winner will be chosen by random draw and three others will be selected by the Design Team.  Head on over to Cooking With Cricut  (http://www.cookingwithcricut.com) for the guidelines and the link up.
