Thank you PC for the Cricut Chirp Spotlight today

Today was an exciting day for me.  The project I did for my Great Aunt's 100th birthday was showcased in the Customer Spotlight of the Cricut Chirp.  Thank you Provo Craft and thank you Lonna Joy for the wonderful words you said about my lovely aunt. For more info check out the details  on my project and the matching card at Original Post

I am linking this to Cooking With Cricut end of the year linking party.  We were to select our favorite project of the year and I decided this was mine.  One because my Great aunt who turned 100 loved it and also because I am still so blessed to have her in my life.

Wow did I spend a lot of time on this layout!

This month Provo Craft is having two Magazine challenges.  For this challenge you were to use 3 Imaginesce products and  4 Cricut Cuts.  I knew right away I had this cute Imaginesce paper I had bought because I knew it would be great with Create a Critter.   So I used the following papers - Mushroom Fancy, Critter Chatter, and Hey Foxy.  I also used the Itop to make 3 flower buttons and the I  rock for the gems on flowers and butterflies.   I tried to duplicate the animals on the paper with the cute little animals on Create a Critter cartridge.  Took a lot of time but I am really happy with the way it turned out.  Hope you like it!

BBTB2 Challenge using a cake cut

The challenge this week at BBTB2  is to make a card using a cake cut. I decide to make a tri fold card as I haven't made one for awhile and recipients always love them.  I used a cake, bird and phrases from Birthday Bash.
The paper is from an 8 x 8 stack of DCVW Simply Sweet

I accented the words with a silver Sharpie.  Used little beads to glitter the cake,
The stamp is one I got in a set at M's.

Linking party at Patches of Pink

This week I found a new blog for me Patches of Pink.  Each week there is a linking party where you can link two projects each week .  Then on Monday and Tuesday everyone can vote on the projects.  I posted
my yellow  bird easel card and  the shoe card from Kate's ABC..  Check it out!

Accordian Fold Card with SYI sunflowers

Happy Memorial Day weekend to everyone.
I have been crafting a lot the last few days but not able to post as they are things for  Blog Hops and Design Teams.  I did take time to do the
My Creative Time the challenge this week is to make a  project using green and yellow somewhere  and to  use an older cart.  I changed my mind several times and then  I made this card  and after much experimenting and  redoing parts I am pretty happy with it.  In one of my card books they had a 4 fold card but it was done with  a 12 inch piece of paper.  I didn't like the size so I cut a piece of  12 inch paper in  1/2 and then trimmed one inch of one side so it was 6 x 11 and two inches off the other piece so it was 6 x 10.  Then I scored and folded one inch on each and glued them together.  I folded each 10 inch side in 1/2 to give me 4 folds at 5 1/2 inch each.  I then started two inches up on one side and cut free hand up to top.  I covered the front and the back.  The caterpillar, sunflowers, pots, and leaves all come from Stretch My Imagination.   I pushed myself and used only green, yellow, golden yellow and  a little white.  I added stamps Always Forever Friends on each piece and then a place to write.
This is picture of card standing up.

This is back side so flower shows to front when open.

Flying Bird Easel card using Floral Embellished for BBTB2 chllenge

Here is another Easel card I made using Mary at Cardztv's video.   I  love making these.  I also wanted to enter the BBTB2 challenge this week which was to use the Floral Embellishment cart and a flying bird or a bird or a flying bird from another cart.  I love FE but had not tried a bird yet.  I also wanted to try one of the  designs in patterned paper.  I used Lemon Flowers from DCVW.  I  am really not a yellow person but thought this stack was very pretty.  I cut the bird at 3 inches. I wanted it to hang over the edge to stimulate flight.  The With Love is pop dotted to hold the front of card in place.  Added bling to deck it out and some yellow ribbon.  This card lays down to A2 size.

Twisted Easel Cards following Mary at Cardz TV video

I love love love the Twisted Easel card that Mary at Cardztv shared on her blog.  Since I love easel cards I had to try this out.  I made three cards the first one Thinking of You and then two graduation cards.  These are so much fun to make.  They are A2 size.

More Beach Layouts with Elegant Edges and Life's A Beach

Sorry this was supposed to post yesterday and I just realized it didn't.  I am having trouble getting on to Blogger the last couple days.
On Saturday I posted my layout for the SweetSassyDiva Design Team.  Well I still had pictures left to scrap so I ended up making two more pages. These pictures are of my  granddaughter when she first learned to walk running up and down the beach with mom and dad.  The first LO I used the sketch for the Weekly Challenge on the CC Blog.  The carts I used were Elegant Edges page 26 Heart 10 inch square.  The heart border was cut at 1.75.  The shells from Life's a Beach page 65 were cut at 5 inches and the sand dollar page 66 was cut at 4 1/2 inches.

This last one I used the sand dollars again and the Large MS Scallop Punch cut on both sides of a 2 1/2 inch strip.

Three challenges in one card

I made this card today for several challenges.  Since I have become addicted to challenges I decided to do 3 in one because I need to keep working on my scrapbook pages.
So for Paper Playtime you were to use a charm- pink heart attached by pink safety pin to ribbon.
For the Craft Spot you were to make a shape card.  I used Elegant Edges page 69 cut at 5 inches.  I cut the front and back piece and then two shadow cuts.
for the Shappy Team Room you were to make something for a baby.
I used Kate's ABC and cut those adorable little shoes at 2 1/2 inches.
Stamped sentiment and hung it from safety pin also, chalked the edges,  and added pearls.
So I covered all three challenges and have a card for my daughter's baby shower in June.

Design Team Post Sweet Sassy Diva- Beach Theme

First let me thank Bobby Jo for selecting me to be a part of her Design Team. I am looking forward to sharing with all of you.  For the Design Team Call we were asked to do a Beach themed project. I live and grew up in a beach town in California so we spend a great deal of time at the beach. I selected the DCVW Linen Closet paper and cardstock from Joann's to get the muted blues and whites.

Closeups

I used A Child's Year for the little girl and umbrella cuts and shadows You will find them on page 43 and I cut them at 4 inches. The shells, title and sand dollars were cut from Life is A Beach. The Title words Reflect were cut at 2.92, the shell border cut at 1.90, are from page 67. The sand dollars cut at 1.35 are from page 66. I chalked the edges of the ACY cuts and the title. Thank you for your comments and please let me know if you have any questions.

SMASH Book/Cricut Magazine Challenge Make It Your Own

I have been hearing about Smash books but wasn't sure what they were. Then there was a thread on the Cricut messageboard which led me to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PFsArr4Z1s and website http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/kandcompany/   The same day the May Cricut Circle Magazine came out.  One of the challenges was to take a project from the magazine and make it your own. There were many beautiful projects but  a lovely journal ion page 33 by Janet Wilkins caught my eye.  So since I collect things and they often end up in a drawer or box. I decided to make a Smash book using  an artist sketch book I had sitting around. I gently  pulled the wires apart just enough to take the cover and backing off and then covered them with one of my favorites stacks  DCVW Street Lace.  The Smash title is from Cricut American Alphabet cut at 1.25, the flowers are the Scalloped cut from Mother's Day Bouquet cut at 1.25 and 1.5.  The butterfly is from Rock Princess cut at 3 inches.  The mini chalkboard is from MichaelDirections for flowers s and I  wrote on it with a silver Sharpie. I also added  a MS punch cut,  Memory thread for the antennas, Diamond Stickles, a couple embellishments and ribbon.

Now for 5 Cricut-Related things about myself:
1.        I  completed over 150 scrapbook pages last year .
2.        I originally bought my first Expression after a fellow teacher showed me one  apple cut from Plantin Schoolbook.
3.       I have received 5 mentions in the Chirp.
4.       I have participated in Cards for Soldiers for 3 months.
5.       Before becoming addicted to the Cricut, MS punches, paper and other scrapbook supplies I collected Boyds Bears.

First Wheels card for September car challenge

I saw a challenge on the September 9th blog to make a car card and you had to use either the word wheel or roll on your card.  I immediately thought of the little car on B is for Boy.  I had made a layout using it before for my granddaughter Katie cutting it in pink and blue to match car we gave her.   http://cricutcraftingrammy.blogspot.com/2011/01/weekly-challenge-16-cute-as-button.html
The little boy is from Playtime.  The title is from Mickey Font and I embossed the black background to look like road.  The edges are chalked.

Quick Sympathy card

I scrap lifted most of this card from my dear friend Brenda.  She sent a card like this to me for my birthday and I immediately ordered the SU embossing folder she used.  Today  I needed to make a Sympathy card for my husband to send to an old coworker.   I decided to scrap lift my birthday card.  I did not have a  sympathy stamp so I used this Thinking of You stamp.

This all new blog will go live Wednesday, May 18th and we want you to be a part of the celebration.  This blog will be full of announcements, information, Cricut.com deals and creative projects meant to inspire everyone who loves Cricut.

BBTB2 Challenge- Card using Sunglasses

The BBTB2 challenge this week was to make a project using sunglasses.  I was going to use the sunglasses on Paisley and then I found this cut on Pack Your Bags.  Since I haven't used it yet I cut the flip flops and crab from  Pack Your Bags.  The wave is from Life's A Beach.  I used a MS PATP  for the edges.  Used Stickles on the waves, added tiny flower beads to sandles,  chalked all the edges, added ribbon, and two tiny shells I found on a recent beach trip.

Wedding card

Today I made a card for a wedding I am coordinating that is August 4th.  It actually started to be the shower card which is in two weeks but I decided to use it for wedding and make another one for shower.  I love all white cards.  I used the Brocade Window embossisng folder and a rose 5 x 7 Cuttlebug folder.  Then I used a textile folder for the flower embossing and a different one for leaves.  The flower is from Sweethearts and was cut twice to give more depth.   I stamped Congratulations with silver and embossed.  Added some diamond stickles and pop dotted the flower 3 out of 4 of the layers.   I am entering this in the My Craft Spot challenge this week.

My Creative Time Challenge- Doodlecharms and blue

The challenge this week at My Creative Time was to make a project using Doodlecharms and blue.  I decided to get a head start on my Cards for Soldiers and so I cut out 5 of the cupcakes at 4 inches.  Then I embossed everything.  The pink paper was cordinations paper so I embossed it and then sanded and added a little Stickles.  I spent a great deal of time this weekend organizing my stamps and  found this one that says Indulge Yourself in a huge set of phrases I got from HSN.  I really like this cupcake and I also think Doodlecharms is a great cart for making a bunch of the same card.  Simple cuts and easy layers.

Lighthouse Long Card with Wall Decor

This is a card I made using Wall Decor for a challenge this week.  The challenge was to make a long card which is 4 x 9.  I have made this before but have always made the design go the other way.  I used DCVW paper Lace and Linens, MS sand dollar punch, Tim Holtz ink and pearls.  I stamped the sentiment.  I had to trim some of the curvy edges on bottom as they hung over edge of card and glue them other places.

CC Blog contest- Show a picture of you in your craft room.

There is a contest on the CC Blog to post a pic of your craft room.  After National Scrapbook day and the 12 challenges with Robyn at Pink Stamper I could barely make it to my chair,  Decided to clean up a little before taking pic.  This is actually the 2nd time I had pic taken in my room this week.    The first time H took 3 pics and not one  was any good-  I don't think he even looks to see if your head is in pic.  This time I checked before he escaped to make sure I got one.  This is my crafting buddy my 6 month old grand daughter.  She loves to watch when the machines are cutting.  Behind me are my nonholiday MS punches.  All other punches and holiday MS punches are not on the wall anymore as I ran out of rods.

Wedding and Anniversary Cards

This card was made using Tie the Knot and my new MS fancy heart punch.  I embossed the wedding dress with two embossing folders and used pearls and Stickles to bling it out.
Both my daughters were married in May.  I made matching anniversary cards using Sweethearts for the front. On the inside one has one towel for ours and one two depending on how many kids they have.  The one with two actually won't have second baby until July but since we already know her name I made her a towel too.  Towels are embossed and  I monogrammed them with tiny stamps I have.
