New DCWV paper at Joann's- I love, love, love it!

Love, love, love the new papers that put out at Joann's on Monday.  I went into store with daughter to look for fabric and didn't expect to find anything new since I had been in there over the weekend using my 25% off coupon.  Beautiful papers by DCWV and they are 40% off.  There were several others too.  Also got my first Wonder Thread to try and think I will go to M's with there 25% off coupon and get the rest of the colors.  Have I tried it yet no but I want to get more colors.  LOL

CC Weekly Challenge Card- Just Because with Floral Embellishments

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #26: Just Because Challenge!

Create a layout featuring an everyday topic or create a “Just Because” card.

I decided to make a card from Floral Embellishments. First I did the bird and then from pieces left I also did a butterfly.  This cart has beautiful phrases including Mother's Day.  I love the bright colors of the DCVW  8 x 8 stack as they are perfect for this cart.  Also the pieces are easy to layer.  Added bling and now I have two cards ready to go when I need them.

The first card of the dove is my entry into the challenge.
Then I made another one of a butterfly.
This is the insides of the two cards.

"Flower" the skunk card from Disney Classics- Spring Fever

This is the card I made for the BBTB2 challenge this week.  The challenge was to make something with a Disney cut.  I decided to use my new Disney Classics for the first time and planned to make the either Bambi or Thumper.  As soon as I saw this cute little cut of Flower I thought it was perfect.  The card is 5 x 7 and the skunk is cut at 4".  The title was cut at 2 " from April Showers which I just got yesterday.
I used Stickles on the title, flowers, and eyes.  I added tiny butterflies I cut with a MS punch and stickled.  I also used a MS flower punch for the edge.  I added ribbon and some small yellow flowers with pink gems to match the paper flowers.  The second pic is a closeup.

Cards for Soldiers- Using mostly Glimmer MIst

I started making Cards for Soldiers last month.  Today I decided to make some using my Glimmer Mist and Stencils.  I sprayed a bunch of cards and left them to dry for awhile.  Then I added ribbon and  flowers ( I had made from a variety of carts) and had in my stash.  Another thing I did over the weekend was cut a variety of  tags, circles, and ovals in cream in white cardstock.  I cut several different sizes and placed them all in a bucket.  Now when I need to add a tag I can grab one and pick out a stamp and I am ready to go.  I can't wait until my new colors of Glimmer Mist get here. I found a great price at Scrapbooking Warehouse.

Bitten by the Bug 2 Challenge- Dachshund from Paisley

The challenge this week is to make a card using the dachshund from Paisley.  I decided to make it a birthday card for my eldest daughter.  She has a birthday coming up and has a dachshund.  I actually ended up using both dachshunds from the cart.  One for the front and one for the inside.  Both of the phrases are from MS Birthday Cakes.

Two more recipe book pages

Here are the two recipe book pages I did for my One hour challenge recipe book.  Both of these recipes are from my friend  Linda at  http://lindas-nothinfancy.blogspot.com/.  I can't wait to try the cinnamon rolls made from a yellow cake mix.  It has rained really hard for 24 hours here in California so I did not go out to store yet.  I used From the Kitchen for the cuts and some little stickers I found at M's.

Cricut Circle March SPRING CLEANING CHALLENGE

I was very excited about this challenge when I saw it was coming up in last months Cricut Circle magazine because I wanted to use my new Cricut Everyday cartridge to decorate my craft space.  I have always been an organization freak at work and school.  Here are the directions for the contest and then my pictures.  Remember you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

SPRING CLEANING CONTEST!

How do you store your Cuttlebug Folders, Cartridges, Paper and Ribbon… not to mention your favorite Cricut tools?? We want to see it… and so does everyone else that needs some inspiration!!
CONTEST RULES: This is easy… just submit your one of a kind storage idea and it must involve at least 4 Cricut items… like Cricut Machines, cartridges, Cuttlebug, folders, booklets and/or  tools.

1.  I used to keep my carts in fishing lure boxes and then one day I was looking at a hanging organizer I had jewelery in.  I tried it out and it was perfect.  So I cleaned out the jewelery and have since bought a second one at Tuesday Morning.  This week I made 26 cart cuts with the alphabet on to organize them from Cricut Everyday.  These hang on my cabinet that I keep a lot of mIsc. stuff in and my tv to keep me company when crafting.   The clear pockets make them easy to find and as I add carts there is lots of room and the letters can be moved as needed.  Each pocket can eventually hold 2 carts.  (There are about 135 carts right now using the fronts and backs spread out.)

2.  This is the stack of drawers that I keep all my overlays and handbooks in. The drawers came from Staples.   Each pocket is  labeled and holds the overlays and handbooks.   I used the Cricut Everyday and Lacey Labels to add colorful labels.  On the top of this I keep my Gypsy and all my cords in this pink metal container.

3.  This is the section I keep my Cuttlebug machine, my 3 boxes of folders, my Your Story and a bunch of my embellishments and assorted misc. items.  Again I used Cricut Everyday to cut out the Your Story title, and make the Cuttlebug pics which I added 1, 2, and 3 too.

The green wire baskets and the green and pink tubs came from Target.  The black and white photo boxes are from Michael's. You can see my Cricut clock which I posted a couple weeks ago.  I also got this at Target and the plastic front was easy to remove to decorate with Cricut Everyday. http://cricutcraftingrammy.blogspot.com/2011/03/bitten-by-bug-2-challenge-st-patricks.html  I also have a Cricut green small wire trash can that I put scraps in when crafting until I file them by color. Keeps my desk a little cleaner while working.  If you have any questions please ask.  Thanks for looking!

The Title “Irish Eyes are smiling” is cut from Nursery Rhymes at 1.97 using Gypsy.

I then used Simply Charmed  page 33 to cut the pot of gold at 3 inches and page 32 both leprechauns at 3 inches.
I also used the MS grass punch, Gold stickles, assorted flowers, brads, and Smooch ink for highlights.  (Love this stuff.) The paper I used was DCWV Brights Paper 8 x 8 size from Joanns.  The background paper is from DCWV stack Flower Shower.  I covered the bottom of background page with plain green from stack to cover flowers  and make mountain for background

Fun rainbow candy project for St. Patrick's

Last week I found these wonderful St. Patrick's Day treat bags on the following blog.  http://bethproudfoot.blogspot.com/2011/02/youre-my-pot-o-gold.html  I thought they were so cute so I went out and got the candy and bags to make them.  For the top I cut a St. Patrick's Card from Spring Seasonal Carts.  This is one of those projects that makes me miss teaching as I would have loved to make these for my students.  So instead I made them for bible study group, MOPS group and some neighbor kids.  Funny thing is big kids get just as excited as little kids when you give them an unexpected treat.  To make them you need pretzal bags from M's, rainbow twizzlers, and gold chocolate coins.   Thanks Beth for the great treat idea.

Easter Chick card for BBTB2 Challenge-Chillin with my Peeps

Today I made this card for the BBTB2 Challenge this week.  We were to use the chicken from the Easter cart or another chicken.  I used the chick from Just Because as it looks more like marshmellow peeps to me.    The title Chillin with my Peeps is from Straight from the Nest.  The Happy Easter on the inside is from the Easter 2010 Seasonal Cart.  The papers I used are from Flower Power DCWV stack.  The card size is 4 x 9 which will fit in a business envelope and folded unevenly with a 1/2 inch edge on bottom.  That way the ribbon on inside edge shows on front also.  I cut grass with MS punch, added Stickles, feathers, and buttons for eyes.

St, Patrick's Day Cards

Here are some of the St. Patrick's cards I made for friends and family.  Saving my favorite card and my St. Pat's layout for the Blog Hop on Thursday and Friday..  This is actually the first shape card I made by welding the shapes on my Gypsy.

Cards I made out of patterned paper scrap pile

I decided to go through my patterned paper scrap pile and start making some quick cards.  The first three I used scrap from zoo mini book I made awhile back.  I glued scraps down and then got Create A Critter out to cut some cute little sayings and critters.  I am going to do more of this as I go instead of throwing all these pieces in the scrap drawer to sit.
Don't forget the St. Patrick's Blog Hop this Thursday and Friday.  I am really excited to show you my projects.

Scraplifted Vintage Cards from Cricut Couple Blog

I totally scraplifted this card from Cricut Couple.  I saw this on their blog a few days ago and immediately ran out and got Ciao Bella stack by DCWV stack at M's with 40% off coupon.  I made the card like the one on their blog first. Here is the link to their wonderful blog and directions.    http://cricutcouple.blogspot.com/2011/03/victorian-birthday-card.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3

I loved this so much I made another one right away. I used Lacey Labels to make layers under roses.
Don't forget the St. Patrick's Blog this Thursday and Friday.  I am really excited about my projects to share.

Two more recipe book pages

Completed two more pages for the Recipe book for the one hour challenge thread this weekend.  I used Simply Charmed for the hotdog and added handcut Chili.  The Soups on and dinner chime is from Old West.  The cute little cook is from Country life.
