New challenge at Lasting Memories-Hot, Hot, Hot

The theme for the Lasting Memories Challenges for the month of October is HOT, HOT, HOT.
The first challenge starts today with  Liquid Glass, Sitting Around a Campfire, and Sketch.
For this page I started with the sketch and used the Cricut Cartridge 3 Birds on Parade.
Sorry I don't have any pictures to add to it but I am sure I will in the future as we love making smores even in the backyard with our little metal firepit.
I made large smore sticks and added the title to the end of one stick
and cotton with brown chalk on it.
The title is also chalked on the bottom for that toasted look.
I used Glossy Accents on the flames, birds eye, beak and legs.
I embossed the bird and trees.
Here is the sketch to use for the challenge.
Check out what the other designers have created to inspire you and then join in for the weekly Sunday challenges at Lasting Memories.  You have all month to complete the challenges.

Little Monkey layout for DCD's zoo challenge

First I want to thank Alex from You Had Me at Craft for having me as her guest designer today for Made It Myself Monday.  This was the first time I had been asked to be a guest designer so I was thrilled.  Alex asked me to share my monkey palm tree diaper cake I made a few months ago for my daughter's baby shower.   So if you haven't seen this project please hop over and check it out.
Here is my entry for Die Cuttin Divas Zoo Crazy challenge this week.  I used Sweethearts for  the monkey and the leaves.  The title Little Monkey is from Three Birds.  The ribbon is Christmas ribbon for the vine.
My daughter makes crocheted hats which she sells at a local baby consignment store.  So the entry page is the monkey and owl hats.
Since I do double page layouts most of the time I carried the leaves and ribbon over to the second page. These pics are the monster, Minnie Mouse and the "boobie" beanie.

BBQ and Smores Layout for Sweet Sassy Design Team

Hello everyone from Suzanne at Cricutcraftingrammy and thanks for joining us.  I am so happy to be here sharing on Bobbi Jo's Design Team at Sweet Sassy Diva again.   This week  we are making  a BBQ project using 3 different cartridges and bright colors.  I used Camping Out, Three Birds and Block Party.  When our family and neighbor friends BBQ in the summer we almost always make smores.  In the back of my mind I remember seeing a project in one of my scrapbook magazines that chalked the Smores letters to look like smores and to used cotton balls for the marshmellows.  So I did my best to lift this idea for my layout.  If I had been true to some of my family I would have made the marshmellows black but I like them toasty and it looks more appetizing.  I embossed the trees. the photo mats and the birds with my Cuttlebug.  I chalked the edges and used googly eyes.
Recipe for Layout
Cut from Three Birds
BBQ bird  5 inches
Smore bird 4 inches
Smores title I used Smore Great Moments cut at 6.5 and used s to make Smores
Smore branch cut 2 times at 10.25
Cut from Block Party
BBQ word 4 inches
Frame 5.75 inches
Sign (top only)  9.25 inches
Cut from Campout
Campfire 3 inches
trees 4 inches
Thanks again for joining us at Sweet Sassy Diva and please come back each day to join us.

Baby shower cards using 3 Birds

This is a baby card for DD to take to work for a shower.  I used 3 Birds but made a combo of several birds.  Little Angel is also from 3 Birds and I added feathers to the wings.  DD said everyone loved the card.

Weekly Cricut circle challenge #15 card

My first post on my new blog.  I am so excited.  This is my project for the Cricut Circle contest this week.  I used the Cricut Carts 3 Birds and Winter Lace.  The bird was cut at 3 inches and the snowflakes at 1 inch.  I used MS snowflake punch for corners and added Adirondack paint dabbers to make snow effect.  I then added brads and Stickles to snowflakes.  I love doing these challenges as it makes me think outside the box.

Weekly Challenge #15: Feeling Frosty!

Brrrr! Winter is in full swing over many parts of the country . . . but even if it is warm where you are, you can use Winter-inspired elements to fuel your creative juices on your next Cricut project. We challenge you to incorporate white paint, metal, and a snowflake cut on your project this week.
