Totally Tags n" ATC's with Plant Life

Good morning crafty friends,
Suzanne of Cricut Crafting Grammy. We are back on Thursdays to explore different themes, elements, techniques or embellishments. This week we are using Plant Life  on our tags and ATC's. There is no restriction on what tools are used to create these tags or ATC's. It could be a die cut machine, punches, stamps, etc. The sky is the limit. However if the Design Team uses Digis or SVG's they will be from Paper Crafting World. As a side note, if you don't know what an ATC card is, we have a definition at the bottom of our post.

I hope you will join us each Thursday here at My Paper Crafting for
Totally Tags n' ATC's.

So let's see what all the designers have in store for you today
as we use Plants  on our tags and ATC's.
I hope you are like me and look forward to this post each week.
Remember to click on the links to see more info about each tag or ATC.

Here is my project

I used the new Graphic 45 French Country paper and embellishments.  Love the sunflowers on this paper.  I added dyed  Seam binding and a little burlap for texture.  The small flowers are from an EK Success punch and I added gems to the centers.

Please check out what the other designers made at My Paper Crafting.  Also there will be a free image from Melin and info on entering our monthly contest.  Happy Craftin!

G45 A Secret Garden Layouts

I just can't get enough of Graphic 45's A Secret Garden collection.  This is one of my latest classes that I designed for my scrapbook store Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.
The first two page layout includes this wonderful vine ribbon from Maya Road and a cute little nest with eggs I found at Michaels.  I also used a Martha Stewart flower punch.
On this page there is a mini book in the bird cage pocket for more pictures or journaling.

Here is a closeup of the vine ribbon and little nest.

On this page we are doing a lot of fussy cutting around the fence and flowers.

Here is a closeup of the poem about the Secret Garden.

My Paper Crafting IFTL Project for April

It's time for the IFTL project for April here at My Paper Crafting.  Each month the DT members and the followers who participate make cards for people in need.  This is a project started by our very own DT member Madison and one that I love to participate in each month.
You can read more about the IFTL Project below my cards.
If you wish to join us don't forget to link up to My PaperCrafting and IFTL.

For my project I used the new Cricut Creative Cards Cartridge.  I love Chevrons  so wanted to try this one right away.  There are three cut layers to make the Chevrons and the heart is also part of the card and I embossed it for texture.

So here is more about the recipients this month

The Butcher Family
Ryan (11), Ed, Ally (5), Debbie, Mady (3), and Kyle (9)

This is Ed's story:
In May of 2012, the Butcher family received the news that no family wants to hear.  Ed, husband and father to four young children had cancer.  He was diagnosed with stage IV colon cancer and lost his hard-fought battle on February 24, 2013.  Some of you may know Debbie as she is a member of our crafting community.  Debbie is a former member of the Cooking with Cricut Design Team where she shared her talents during the Fall term of 2010.  You can find her work on her blog at Workin' Scrappin' Mom of 4.

It is my honor and privilege to ask my fellow crafters and anyone who reads this blog to join me in sending cards to Debbie and her children for the month of April.

If you would like to be a part of this project...

All you need to do is:

Where I display my mini books

I wanted to share some quick picks of where I keep all my mini books that I haven't given away.
They were taking over my craft space and always falling so I wanted somewhere to display them.
I found this great Ikea cabinet on a local facebook site that sells household goods.  Cost me $20 and fits in this space between doors.  Even has a light.  Now they are out of the way, clean and not taking up my craft room space which is of course at a premium.

Here is an interesting definition from Wikipedia on ATC's.
Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern trading cards baseball cards, or 212 by 312 inches (63 mm × 89 mm),[small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.[The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland. Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or cloth. The cards are usually traded or exchanged.

Scrapping my grandson in blue

Today I am sharing some quick and easy layouts of my grandson MIcah.  These are the first pictures of him at the hospital and on the first day home.  It is a lot of fun scrapbooking blue after three granddaughters.  I also scrapbooked my poor daughter in emergency that night.  For those of you that don't know she fell the night before her due date and broke her arm which started her contractions.
After puttting her arm in a sling and sending her home her water broke and she barely made it back to the hospital.  A very exciting and nerve racking night.
