Day 5 of 25 at My Paper Crafting-Gingerbread-Holiday Baking

I am so excited to share my project today for Day 5  of the 25 Days= Gingerbread and Holiday Baking.
A while back I designed  a Christmas Memory/Recipe book.  I taught this class a few weeks ago at Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  I used the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Collection, Farm House Mini book, Elegant Edges and From my Kitchen carts for cuts
 and many embellishments and ribbons.
Last night over 50 people attended the annual charity  auction to raise funds for Wounded Warriors and
Navy Relief Fund.  I am happy to say a lot of my projects were sold by silent or live auction including my album.  Here is the very generous new owner Mary Ann with me holding her book.
Here are the pictures - Warning very pick heavy
Front cover which opens into a story book
The pages alternate between picture mats
and pockets for recipes
The back of each recipe page is more of the Nutcracker story and music

DCVW and Creative Scrappers Challenges

Over the weekend I worked on some challenges.  I started with the DCWV Stack-a-holic June Challenge.  Each month DCWV and Erin host a layout sketch challenge and now they have added a card sketch challenge the past few months.  I have been lucky to win several of these and since I am a DCWV stack a holic I love these challenges.  For this month I used the beautiful red, white and blue stack I bought last year called Nantucket.  This stack is full of beautiful papers.
Here is my two page layout together entitled "Cutie Pie."
Cutie is cut from Elmo and Friends Holiday.  Pie cut From My Kitchen.
This is the DCWV sketch which I used for the left page.

I then made the second page using the Creative Scrappers Sketch #213.
The rosettes were made with the Tim Holtz rosette makers.
Ribbon Michaels.

Here is the Creative Scrappers sketch

I then decided to use some of my scraps and some more paper from the stack to make my challenge card entry.  Here is the DCWV sketch for June.

Here is my card.  I made a double rosette using the Tim Holtz rosette maker and also used the rosette cut for the blue scallopped edge.  Ribbon from Michaels.
Ink Blog Quick Quotes
MS punch and corner rounder

Also entering this in the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge - Red, White and Blue

Bitten by the Bug Kitchen Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for another awesome BBTB2 challenge.  Julia asked us to do a "Kitchen Challenge".  You can create a card, layout or 3 D project using anything you find in your kitchen and
any Cricut cartridge.

For my project I made a card using the From My Kitchen Cricut cart.
The apron is from page 51.
The recipe card can be found on several pages of the From My Kitchen Cart.
The phrase What's Cookin?  is from Three Birds on Parade page 55.
Many Thanks on the inside comes from the Phrases cart page 22.
The background paper is from TPC studio Spice Rack and the blue paper is DCWV Kitchen stack.  The other papers are from my stash.
All the cuts are inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.
The larger rick rack is from Joanns.
The teeny tiny yellow rick rack is from my mom's sewing box so is over 50 years old.
When I was little my mom and grandma always wore aprons they made and they almost always had rick rack on them.
Inside of card
I hope you will leave a comment and check out what all the other BBTB2 designers have created.  Then get out your Cricut carts and join us for the challenge.  You have two weeks to complete your project and we would love to have you join in.  Happy Craftin!

Bun in the Oven layout for ultrasound picture

Today I have a layout I made the other day for a challenge at Child's Play. based on the Easy Bake Oven and also Amanda's Scrap and More Getting Scrappy Challenge use a banner or pennant.
Right away I remembered an idea I saw at a scrapbook expo of a baby ultrasound in and oven.  So I got out my From the Kitchen cart and made an oven to fit the untrasound picture my daughter just got.  Then I cut out the cute little prego lady from New Arrival.  The banner is from Birthday Bash and the letters are Nursery Rhymes. At the bottom I used some little alphabet beads and a heart button to make a little banner that says !st Photo.  I kept the background generic blues, pinks and greens and yellows since we don't know if its a boy or girl yet.
So my first page of grandbaby #4 album has begun.

Christmas layout using Rosettes and Ribbons

It sure felt good to scrap today after a crazy week.  We left last Saturday and spent 4 days visiting some of my husband's cousins.  On the way home we picked up my 22 month old granddaughter.  She stayed with us  for two nights, which was her first time, and we had a lot of fun.  Then a great day with family and friends for Thanksgiving.   My new Gypsy arrived from PC while I was gone so today I spent much of the day updating my machines and my Gypsy.  So all my crafting was done  with carts and my E2 today.
Christmas Layout
I got some really cute Recollections Christmas paper at Michaels yesterday and decided to start my Christmas layouts.  I used the sketch from Frosted Design to create my layout.
The large medallion is from page 63 of the Rosettes and Ribbon cart cut at 9" on shadow.
The circle is from the same cart page 21 at 4 1/2".
The little gingerbread man is From My Kitchen and was cut at 4 1/2".
The red cut out felted ribbon and the cream ribbon are from Michaels.
The star buttons are from Joanns.
I also used twine, Pearl Pen, and assorted little buttons for the gingerbread man.
Cream shiny cardstock was used to make a border with a MS punch.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you will leave a comment.  Also hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family and friends.  Happy Craftin!

Two more recipe book pages

Here are the two recipe book pages I did for my One hour challenge recipe book.  Both of these recipes are from my friend  Linda at  http://lindas-nothinfancy.blogspot.com/.  I can't wait to try the cinnamon rolls made from a yellow cake mix.  It has rained really hard for 24 hours here in California so I did not go out to store yet.  I used From the Kitchen for the cuts and some little stickers I found at M's.

Recipe book with the One hour challenge

I have been participating in the One hour challenge thread for over a year now on the Cricut Messageboard.  We have the thread on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.  We start at 4:00 Pacific time.  I have learned so much from these ladies and love posting my projects there. All our welcome to join.  The projects do not have to be done in one hour.  The goal is to just keep crafting and encouraging each other.
Right now one of our challenges is to do recipe books. We are sharing recipes and then we choose ones we want to scrap.   I am having a lot of fun doing this.  I got behind when I was sick, but finally got some pages done. I am altering a recipe book I got at Michaels awhile back on clearance.  I finally got the From My Kitchen cart and Kitchen stack at Joann's to use.  First is the cover then the pages I have completed so far:
