Howdy Partner layout with Julie Nutting dolls

This is something I have wanted to do for awhile and it was so fun.  I love playing with Julie Nutting paper doll stamps.  This was the perfect picture to create a layout using my new bitty doll stamps.
I have created little girls to match my granddaughters dresses but until recently there weren't any boys so this is the first time I was able to do a boy too.
This is my grandson Micah 2 and my granddaughter Kenzie 4
dressed up for Western day at preschool.
I hunted through my stash to find papers that matched their clothes as much as possible.
I am entering this in two challenges:
                  Handmade flowers and recycled materials!
                                       Frosted Designs
The flowers are hand cut circles of paper and sewing patterns.
For the  recycled part of the challenge I used the sewing patterns,
veggie bag net, and grocery bag torn and rolled for frame.

Die Cut challenge: Clothing

Stuck on U Sketches
The little girl stamp had fancy shoes
so I cut boots out to match my granddaughters.
The clothesline is a Silhouette die cut I cut three times.
The title Howdy Pardner is also a Silhouette cut and I used a Martha Stewart punch for the fan.  I sprayed with Glimmer Mist, used denim ribbon from Michaels, tiny clothes pins, and cork embellishments.
Thanks for looking at my project.  I would love to hear your comments.
Happy craftin!

Over the weekend I created a layout for the Let's Get Sketchy Week 2 Sketch Challenge
I used the new Simple Stories Say Cheese II for the paper.
I added a die cut of Mickey's head.  The pictures are of my oldest daughter and her two kids at a recent trip to Disneyland.

This gorgeous sketch was created by Laura Whitaker
Here is the double page layout completed.

Frosted Designs Challenge-Use two messy items

Frosted Designs is having a great challenge this week to
include two "messy" items on your card, layout or off the page project! Messy items might include: paint, inks, mists, gesso, molding paste.
I decided to get a little messy and create a layout for the challenge with some new Kaisercraft paper the Sandy Toes Collection.  This is a picture of my youngest daughter and my youngest granddaughter Brittany together at the beach.
For the background I used Golden Fiber Paste to make two dimensional palm trees with a stencil.
(One of the trees got covered up on the right)
I  then used Glimmer Mist Patina and Crushed Shells to spray over the paste and two stencils.
On the bottom of the page I used Viva Stone Art to make the sand texture.
After distressing the paper I used Ranger Ink Vintage Photo to ink the edges.

Closeups:
For added texture I used netting, shells, starfish corrugated paper, burlap and cork paper.

Here you can see the texture of the fiber paste.
If you like to get messy check out the challenge and what the design team has done at Frosted Designs.  Lots of inspiration and fun!

Egg on our faces- Lasting Memories food challenge

This week at Lasting Memories the challenge is a sketch challenge and it must go with this months theme which is food.  I decided to create a layout using the sketch and then the second page to go with it using pictures of my granddaughter Kenzie and grandson Micah.  They love to eat egg salad sandwiches at a deli near us.  They are so huge the kids and I can share a sandwich.  There is so much egg that they get it all over their faces hence the food moustaches.  The paper I used was from Adorn It Crazy for Daisies.  I love the bright colors and graphics.
Here is the sketch for the challenge this week.

Here is the second page to go with it.
So here is the info about Lasting Memories5.  Check it out and join us.

My last Christmas layouts

Here are my last Christmas layouts for 2014.  The title Christmas at Grandmas came from the Silhouette store.  Love this picture of me holding all 4 grandkids.  So hard to get them all to hold still.
Here Papa and Grammy are with the kids.

Elf on the Shelf and Christmas PJs layouts

Just a few more layouts to post and I will be done with Christmas.  These two were so fun.  The Do not bribe the Elf was from the Silhouette store and the Christmas Pajamas was from PPbN designs.
Can you spot the mistake on the elf one?  When I loaded the title the Elf with the dots was supposed to be cut out in a different color but I was yacking away at crop and didn't notice.  So when I offset it for the pink background it made the shadow for everything and I glued it on that way.  Oh well it could have been worse.  Love the picture of my husband reading Elf on the Shelf to granddaughter.
During the holidays they were gone a few days to Grammy was in charge of the elf and had to send pictures of the naughty elves to them.

This year Kenzie and Micah got Elf on the Shelf PJs for their Christmas pajamas.

Frosted Design Direction Challenge-"Growing Up Big"

My layout today is one I created for the Frosted Designs Challenge :
What Direction?
Your project needs to have something indicating direction.  You can go literal and use arrows or get wordy and use directional words:  East, West, Up, Down, Over, Under, Left, Right....you get the idea.  You can even get a little creative and use a compass or weather vane....  You can interpret this any way you want, but be sure to explain it in your blog post if it's not really obvious!

I chose these pictures of my grandson Micah who just turned 2 before Christmas and is  "growing up big".  He and his sister Kenzie love to climb and be up high.  They are both little monkeys and very daring.
I found the arrow paper in my stash and used green and orange Bazzil to mat.
The "Growing Up Big", climb and play are files from Silhouette America and I did print and cut for them and then cut the mats in Bazzil. The title is pop dotted.  The buttons were added and I punched out a Chevron pattern from a matching paper and highlighted it with green.  I used the remaining punched
out pieces to highlight the pictures.
I really like the way this turned out as all the arrows and chevrons show movement, direction and being on the go and that definitely is a description of Micah.
Thanks for looking and I hope you will leave a comment.
Happy craftin!

"Sweet" Big Sister layout for Lasting Memories Challenge

Today at Lasting Memories the challenge is "Sweet As Can Be"
and the February theme "Food for Thought."
For my layout I used an owl holding a cupcake  and several titles from Silhouette America.  The first was Big Sister and then I added the word sweet.
The paper is from my stash from several years ago.  I added a doily under the owl.  I wanted to add a couple matching hearts so cut out two from underneath where the photo mats are so that I could utilize the 1/2 sheet of paper.  The sweet sweet banner was from some embellishments I had in my stash.
The pictures are of my granddaughter Kenzie sharing her cupcake with her little brother after swimming lessons.  I thought that was definitely as "sweet" as can be.
"
Now you have seen my layout check out

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party layouts

These are some pages I did of my oldest daughter and her family at Disneyland during Christmas.  The paper I used was a stack I got at Michaels this Christmas.
For this title I print and cut the Very Merry Christmas Party title from google search.

The Merry Christmas title and Mickey and Minnie with Santa hats for this next page came from PPbn Designs.  Isn't that Santa the most gorgeous Santa you have ever seen?

Another Graphic 45 Twas the Night Before Christmas layout

I used Twas the Night before Christmas from Graphic 45 for my night before Christmas photos.  I love the Graphic 45 colors and graphics.  These pictures are of my grandkids Kenzie 4 and Micah 2 all dressed up to go to Christmas Eve services with us.  The twine with the wood beads was from Hobby Lobby.
Kenzie loves getting dressed up and Micah looked so handsome in his red sweater.

This is a Christmas double page layout I did using Heidi Swap Believe collection.  I loved this paper and bought several stacks.  The pictures are of grandkids Micah and Kenzie
on Christmas Eve and on a shopping trip.
All dressed up and ready to go to church.
