The challenge this week at Sweet Sassy Diva is to create a project that is not a card or layout. I decided to try one of the cute little gift boxes from the Sweet Tooth Boxes Cart. I used Fit to Page to make the box as large as possible.
Here is the finished house using K and Company Valentine stack.
Here are all the pieces cut out. You cut one of each as per the booklet instructions except for the house sides which you cut two.
The drawings in the booklet then show you where to score. I used my MS Scoreboard.
Now this is where I recommend you not follow the handbook directions. My suggestion is that you glue the window, grass, flowers, and doors while the side cuts are flat before you put the house together. This helps make sure all the pieces are secure.
I glued a piece of pale pink vellum over the windows so they were not see through.
The two side pieces are then glued together following directions.
The roof slides over the top keeping the box together.
Here is a side view.
The other side.
So now you have a treat box big enough to hold two cupcakes. There is also a holder that will hold the cupcakes in place that you can cut out from the cart.
Please join us all week to see what the other designers have created.
