Lasting Memories Special Celebration Layout Challenge

First of all I want to wish  our very own Karen
 a big Happy Birthday!
Hope you have a lovely day and that next year
brings you many many blessings.

Hello everyone it's Sunday so it must be time for another Lasting Memories layout challenge.
This week the challenge is "Special Celebrations".  Scrapbook a special occasion, something or someone.  I knew right away I wanted to scrapbook the day we found out we are having our first grandson.  For my daughters birthday she got to go have a "My First Peekaboo" ultrasound to find out if she was having a boy or girl.  So the proud parents, aunt, grammy and sister all went down to watch.  I brought along balloons and buttons for both a boy or girl.  To tell the truth we really didn't think it would be a boy as I had two girls and so far we have had three granddaughters in less than 18 months.  So boy there was a lot of celebrating, jumping, hugging and excitement when the screen turned on and we all knew right away it was a boy without a doubt.
So the first page is the pics of everyone waiting and the second is the ultrasound, dad calling his parents, and the happy family.
Closeup 'girl?" "boy?" title from Graphically Speaking
Boy and girl outfits from Baby Steps
'OH Boy" from Mickey Font, tag from Fantabulous Finds, Little Baby from
Baby Step and I added a baseball cap from B is for Boy.  My son in law is an avid baseball player, umpire and Dodger fan so I figure Michah better get used to a ball cap.  LOL
I hope you enjoyed my layout.  Little Micah will arrive in early October
so you will be seeing a lot of blue from me in the future.
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge and link up to Lasting Memories before Sat. night.  We love to see your layouts and where your creative minds go each week with the them.
Happy Craftin?

Its time for the CWC I Feel the Love Project

Hello everyone it is time for Madison's I Feel The Love project for Cooking with Cricut this week.
Here is a little about the August Recipient.
As written by Karen, the best friend of Olivia's mom-- Olivia is a 9-year-old with a sparkling heart, in need of extra love and encouragement. My lifelong friend is her mother, who lost her battle to cancer in 2011. Facing this new reality has been extremely hard for her. As valiantly as our beloved Erika fought cancer, with that same strength is Olivia doing all she can to end this disease. Soon after her passing, at only 8 years old Olivia founded Kids Involved in Cancer Research with a fierce drive to raise awareness and money for colon and lung cancer research. With her KICR walkathon for this year taking place this past weekend, a box of IFTL love will be such an encouragement. She is so brave, possessing the same inspiring strength I saw in Erika, and I would give anything to take away her pain. Madison's ministry gives us the privilege of delivering sunshine to Olivia's heart. Our happy cards will bring a smile to her beautiful face as she fights her own battle of dealing with the loss of her mom. It will mean so much to her to see that there are people thinking of her, who took the time to make a fun little card especially for her. Every card will be a blessing, engulfing her with healing love and light.
So here is my card for Olivia.

I used the Cricut Cart Sweet Treats page 32 to make the tall sundae cutting at 9 inches.
The stamps are from  Yummy Puns by Joy's Stamps.
Ribbon from Joanns.
I also used my Drippy Goo MS punch and the Cuttlebug Divine Swirl embossing folder.
The whip cream is made with a pearl pen and sparklies
Then Red Stickles for the cherry on top.
Here is the inside with a little piece of leftover ribbon on the corner.
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge and create a card for Olivia.  Not only will it make her feel special to get all these lovely cards but make you feel special to participate and share your creativeness with others.  You have a week to link up your project at CWC.  Happy Craftin!

I am so excited to share that starting this month I will be teaching monthly scrapbook classes at my local scrapbook store Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  This LSS is a family owned run store and I love to go there.  I have taken classes and am delighted to be a part of the teaching staff now.  For my first class I will be teaching two double page layouts using the new Happy Hauntings Halloween paper from Graphic 45.  This paper is so darn cute and such great colors.

Top 3 at Child's Play and Ribbons from the County Fair

I have some great news to share with all my crafty friends and followers.
First of all I won Top three at Child's Play for June.  I love their challenges as they are perfect inspirations for layouts of my granddaughters.

Here is my layout

Also our County Fair started this week  and I had entered a bunch of projects.  Last year was my first time entering layouts at the urging of my daughters.  I was thrilled to win 13 ribbons for 13 projects.  This year I went through my albums again and found 17 layouts to enter.   For these I won 4 first,  four 2nds, 7 thirds and 2 Honorable Mentions.
I also tried my hand at the cards and other paper projects category entering 11 items.  In this category I won 4 first, 6 seconds and one third place ribbon.
If you haven't done this before it is a lot of fun and really makes it exciting to go to the fair.
