My Paper Crafting- Easter cutter challenge

Wow Spring has sprung or not in many cases depending on where you live and it's just a few days away from Easter.
I made this layout for the Easter challenge using the cute little basket from Doodlecharms cut in a chevron pattern paper.  The eggs in the basket are hand cut and the banner, and the rest of the paper is from my LSS which is Reminisce.  The banners and stickers are from the same line.
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge at My Paper Crafting and create something with Easter in mind and your Cricut.  Also check out all the other great posts this week each and every day.
Happy Easter to all!

BBTB2 Challenge- "Love is in the Air" - Hearts or Cupid

Today for the challenge at BBTB2 my dear friend Brenda is challenging us all to  "Love is in the Air".  .  For your project you are to cut a cupid or heart using your Cricut.  I am really excited to share my project with you.  I made this pull out mini book for a class at the Scrapbook store that I teach at.  The paper is Authentique's Valentine paper. I loved the vintage feel of this paper and the cute little vintage graphics.  I used a stamp set I got from Close to my Heart for the 10 Things I Love about you.  I cut the different hearts and shapes from Elegant Edges and Doodle charms.  Each page has one of these shapes and a number on it so that personal things can be written on it.

I hope you will stop by each of the designers blogs to check out what they have made. Then share with us this week your Cricut projects with cupids or hearts at BBTB2.
Happy Craftin and Happy Valentines Day

FCCB Challenge- Yummy, Yummy- Summer dessert

Two challenges today so please check them both out.
First - Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog- Yummy, Yummy Challenge
Second- Bitten by the Bug 2 Blog - Window to my World Challenge

It's time for another awesome Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.  This week the challenge is "Yummy, yummy"- create a Summer dessert project using a die cut.  I knew right away I wanted to use the cute little Popsicle from Doodlecharms.  I cut this at 5 inches since my card is a 6 x 6 square.
The paper is from my local  LSS.  So I matched the pink color and used a lighter pink underneath for the shadow.  The sticks were cut from Kraft stock and then embossed with a Cuttlebug folder to make them look like wood.  For the drips at the bottom I used my Martha Stewart dripping goo punch and then added some ribbon from my stash.  The stamp "You melt my heart" came from a huge set of stamps I got at HSN over a year ago.  I curved the sentiment slightly before placing on the block to have it fit to the Popsicle curve.  Then to make it look really good and yummy I poured Glossy Accents over the top and spread it all over the Popsicle to give it that shiny look.  Now that's what I call yummy.
So what is you idea of a great Summer desert?  We can't wait to see what you create and share with us at FCCB.  Please come back all week for different posts and I will be back here for Fantabulous Friday.  Hope you will return for some more inspiration.

Cookiing with Cricut Graduation/End of School Challenge

Hello everyone! With the end of another school year coming it's time for a Graduation/End of School Year challenge here at Cooking with Cricut.  I taught for 33 years and can't believe I have now been retired for two years.  This time of year was always tiring as you completed your school year and since we were year round we were already planning the next year.  I would be so attached to my students that it was hard to end the year yet thrilled to see how far they had come in one year.
For my card today I made a card I saw in the Cricut magazine last year and book marked.
The only problem was  I didn't have a sewing machine that was in working order until I got one for my birthday a few months ago.  I really liked the layering of the apple and sewing through the layers.
Everything was inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Distressed Ink.
I used Kraft paper for the base, red cardstock and Graphic 45 School Days paper.
The stamp was from the $1 section at Michaels and the ribbon was from a package that I recycled.
Buttons and twine from my stash.
I used the apple from Doodlecharms 2 1/2 inches and welded it to center of rectangle.
I embossed with Stampin Up textured folder and pop dotted it all around.  Tied ribbon and added tag.
I cut out 5- 1 1/2  inch apples  out of a book I got at the 99 cent store.  I hunt for books with heavy paper so they cute more easily.  Inked the apples and sewed onto apple I cut out of graphic 45.  Then glued into cutout.  Buttons are threaded with twine and glued down.
Inside of card I used more Graphic 45 scraps and the apple cut out from front and the last little piece of ribbon.  Stamped apple with a stamp in my stash.
I hope you enjoyed my card.  I am really enjoying using my sewing machine on my cards and layouts.
I hope you will join us this week for the Graduation/End of School Challenge.  We would love to see your projects and have you link up to CWC. Remember you have one week to complete your project.
Happy craftin!

Chillin with my Peeps layout

This is a layout I made for two challenges.  The sketch is for the "Let's Get Sketchy" Sketch Challenge.  I am also entering this in the Cricut Circle National Scrapbook Day challenge "Old and New".  For this challenge you were to use an old Cricut cart and a newer Cricut cart.
This is my granddaughters first taste of a "peep" on Easter.
The bunnies were cut from Doodlecharms page 85 at 4 and 2.5 inches. The paper I used is a glitter paper I found in my stash that actually looks like real peeps.
Chillin with my Peeps came from Straight from the Nest page 61 cut at 4 inches and I cut the bird off.
Paper from my stash and ribbon from Michaels.
Here is the sketch from Lets Get Sketchy

The Cricut Circle Challenge  this week is a sketch challenge.
I decided to do a layout using the sketch and some Easter pictures.
This is the first Easter Egg hunt we have had for our 3 granddaughters.
I used Kate's ABC for the title cut at 1 inch.
The basket  and eggs are  from Doodlecharms  cut at 4 inches and embossed with the Cuttlebug.
The journal shapes are both from Elegant Edges cut at 2.5 inches.
This is the page following the sketch from the Cricut Circle

Cooking with Cricut Teacher Appreciation Challenge

Hard to believe it is already May and before we know it school will be out for another year.  This week at Cooking with Cricut the challenge is Teacher Appreciation.  Being I taught school for 33 years this is a challenge near and dear to my heart.  For my design team project I chose to make a Post it Note holder and card for my favorite teacher my daughter.

Here is the completed project using Graphic 45 School Days paper and embellishments.
I started with this acrylic frame from Michaels I bought for about $3.
The apple is cut from the Cricut cart Doodlecharms at 3 inches for the post it note holder
and 2 1/2 inches for the matching card.
The ruler ribbon was from my LSS.  The small blocks I had in my stash which I think I got at Michaels.
The two wood apples are button covers that I broke off the metal parts from to recycle.
Thanks for stopping by and I would love for you to leave a comment.  Also would love for you to join us this week for the challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  Remember it's Teacher Appreciation card or gift.  We would love to see what you create.

What I Am Thankful for Blog Hop and SSD Design Post- Gift candles

Welcome to the "What I Am Thankful For" Blog Hop.  This hop is scheduled from Nov. 4 at 8:00 am through Nov. 5 at 11:00 pm (central time).

If you just happened to come to this blog, you are at the beginning with Lisa Peters- http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/.

We're so excited to be doing this hop and we have a fabulous lineup with some very talented ladies. There will be lots of fun projects, along with some great blog candy, and a great grand prize for this hop.

The hop is a 2 day hop so you will have plenty of time to make it through the whole hop lineup twice. Check out each blog and see what blog candy you can win at the individual stops.  Please come back both days to see great projects.

My project is also my project for the Sweet Sassy Diva Design Team this week.  This week the challenge for the DT was Tis the Season.   In keeping with the theme of the blog hop "What I am Thankful For"   I decided to share a gift project. There are so many people I like to thank at Christmas for being part of my life.   I made some of these last year and they were a big hit.  It is a great idea to make a few and then if someone stops by unexpectedly with a gift or you need a hostess gift you have them available.  They are great for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years.   They are quick and easy to put together and you can  use scraps,Cricut cuts, or any embellishments you have around.  Here are the 4 completed candles.

The large ones were purchased at Michel's on sale 3 for $10 and the small one was
$1.  So watch the sale ads.
Directions:

1.  For the tops  I used the Tim Holtz Rosette makers which I love as it is so quick and the rosettes come in three sizes- 3/4 ", 1 " and 1 1/4".   This is especially handy for small rosettes.
If you don't want to make rosettes you can put die cuts, embellishments, flowers, etc. on top.
2.  Pull off the labels.  This is easy peasy on M's candles.  If you have a candle and it won't come off then just cover it.  I like to cut the flavor of the candle off the label and stick it to the bottom.
 3.  Cut strips of 12 inch paper for the large candles.  You can leave it plain or punch with punches.  I cut the bottom layer at 3" and  the top layer at 2.75.  The small one was 1 1/4 " and 1 ".   I then glued a strip of coordinating ribbon down the center.  You could also punch a strip with your punches.
4.  Glue the strips together and then put ATG strips or glue on the back and roll it around the jar.  They will just meat in the center.  I then put strips of invisible tape over the meeting point.
Make sure you keep it tight so it won't slide down.
5.  Now you are ready to decorate.  See the next group of pictures for details.
The first one was done using embellishments of holly, pointsettias, gems and raffia.  I found a bag of raffia at M's with red, green and cream that I knew would come in handy.  I added a holly to the top of the rosette.
The Thanksgiving jar I used the acorn from Doodlecharms cut at 5" and 3".  I embossed the acorns and added some embellishment leaves and the word Fall.  The Fall colored raffia is from the tie from a package of pasta my hubs bought.
The blue one I cut out a snowflake from Art Philosophy with the ornament shadow at 3".  I added some snowflake gems and bling.
The small one I added a Merry Christmas embellishment and some raffia.
Here are a few more pictures and ideas from last years candles.

K-K-K- Katie ladybug layout

Made this double page layout using an assortment of pictures of my oldest granddaughter Katie.
We call her Katiebug and I am always singing K-K-K- Katie to her so I used that for the title.  I used my Gypsy to weld the ladybug shadow from Doodlecharms together for the title.  The letters are from Tear Drop.  I used the MS ladybug Punch around the page and red ribbon with black dots that I bought at Michaels. The paper was from last year and I added some shiny ladybug dimensional stickers to each letter.
Entering this in the Cooking it up with Katie- recipe use red ribbon in a row.

Doodlecharms bear birthday card made with scraps

The Mag Challenge this week is to use page 105 of Doodlecharms.  When I saw the little bear I remembered the Happy Bearthday Cuttlebug Embossing folder I had so I used that with the bear.  I used all scraps for this project.  Even the background of the card is two pieces so I added ribbon across the card to hide the seam line.  I am also entering this in the Love to Crop Scraps Challenge this week.

My Creative Time Challenge- Doodlecharms and blue

The challenge this week at My Creative Time was to make a project using Doodlecharms and blue.  I decided to get a head start on my Cards for Soldiers and so I cut out 5 of the cupcakes at 4 inches.  Then I embossed everything.  The pink paper was cordinations paper so I embossed it and then sanded and added a little Stickles.  I spent a great deal of time this weekend organizing my stamps and  found this one that says Indulge Yourself in a huge set of phrases I got from HSN.  I really like this cupcake and I also think Doodlecharms is a great cart for making a bunch of the same card.  Simple cuts and easy layers.

BBTB2 Challenge- Apple card UR Unique

Boy have I been cranking out the projects since I got my E2.  I sure love it.  Today I made this card for the BBTB2 challenge this week.  The challenge was to use an apple core or if you didn't have that cut an apple.   I used Doodlecharms for the basket 4 cut at 4 inches and the the apples were cut at 2 Inches.  I used the Cuttlebug to emboss the basket.  I chalked all the edges.  The U R Unique is from Wall Decor and cut in glitter paper.
