The banner pieces are cut from Birthday bash at 5.75 wide from page 59.
Micah is cut from Nate's ABC  at 2 inches
All Star comes from Life's a Party and the other cuts are all from
Boys Will be Boys cut at 4 or 4.5 inches.
Here are some closeups
Would love to see what you create this week and hope you will join us for the challenge at FCCB.

Bun in the Oven layout for ultrasound picture

Today I have a layout I made the other day for a challenge at Child's Play. based on the Easy Bake Oven and also Amanda's Scrap and More Getting Scrappy Challenge use a banner or pennant.
Right away I remembered an idea I saw at a scrapbook expo of a baby ultrasound in and oven.  So I got out my From the Kitchen cart and made an oven to fit the untrasound picture my daughter just got.  Then I cut out the cute little prego lady from New Arrival.  The banner is from Birthday Bash and the letters are Nursery Rhymes. At the bottom I used some little alphabet beads and a heart button to make a little banner that says !st Photo.  I kept the background generic blues, pinks and greens and yellows since we don't know if its a boy or girl yet.
So my first page of grandbaby #4 album has begun.

Princess Kenzie and her throne

I have been sick all week and am actually under quarantine until Monday.  Great way to spend my week off from babysitting while my daughter is on Spring Break isn't it?  So I have been designing on my Gypsy and finally felt well enough to work in my craft room awhile today.  The pictures are of my granddaughter Kenzie. The first page is her sitting in one of my "bear chairs" and the other page is her feeding her baby doll and playing at Grammy's.
I used Sketch #203 from Creative Scrappers for this page and am entering it in the challenge
I am also entering this a Bitten by the Bug 2  where the challenge is to use the word Princess
Paper Loving Gals challenge to use a banner

Lasting Memories Challenge- How Do You Layer?

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is "How Do You Layer?"- do you layer paper, ribbons, flowers, cuts?  I made this Happy Bearday layout for some of my middle granddaughter's birthday pictures.  The banner was cut from the Cricut Cart Birthday Bash at 3 inches  and then I printed the letters at 1.5 inches with the Imagine cart Hopscotch. I layered the letters on to the banner cuts. I used Twine to hang the banner from.
The bear is a cutting file from Melin at Paper Crafting World. If you haven't seen these awesome files and digis please check them out.   This is an SVG file that you can cut with SCAL.   The design is split into pieces on the computer screen and you cut all the pieces and then "layer" them together.  I really like the dimension this gives to the cuts.  You can also pop dot cuts which gives them even greater depth.  I also use layer by making mats and I also added punch gifts and cupcakes to the corners.
The prize this week for one lucky winner this week at Lasting Memories  is a $10 gift certificate to
Here is the sketch for this week.  Remember you do not have to use the sketch.  It is just to give you ideas.  The challenge is to use layers this week.
Have a great crafty week and hope to see your projects this week at Lasting Memories.

Lasting Memories "Love" Challenge Layout- Love My Curly Top

If you are looking for the Card for Emily Hop Click Here.
If you are looking for my Lasting Memories post keep reading.
Today it is time for the Lasting Memories layout challenge.  The challenge this week is to use the word LOVE on your layout.  It does not have to be a Valentine theme but could be.
I had several ideas come to mind for this challenge.  I decided to go with this title after flipping through pics of my granddaughters.   I  decided to scrap some of the pics of my eldest granddaughter Katie and her curly hair.  Her hair is so gorgeous and every where we go people comment and want to touch it.
I came up with the title "Love My Curly Top."
I did use Valentine paper from a K and Company stack this year.  I really  love banners so used some of the banner cuts on  the Cricut Birthday Bash cart. I used a piece of paper that had strips of different designs to cut out the banner shape so the banners had different designs.   The different shapes for the banner were cut at 2 inches and the letters at 1.12 inch for the banner.  The name Katie was cut at  1 inch.
Then I added some flowers from my stash and buttons.  The buttons were tied with twine.
I am also entering this in the Frosted Design challenge- use the word Love on your project

I hope you will join us this week at Lasting Memories for the "Love" Challenge.  We would love to see your creations.  Now onto this weeks challenge!! This week "All You Need Is LOVE!!" We want to see the word LOVE on your layout. Does NOT have to be Valentine, but if that works, go for it!! We can't wait to see what you create this week!!! Before we go, guess what!! "Sing" Happy Birthday card

First of all I had so much fun today crafting in my room which I reorganized (see yesterday's post).
Everything I need on a regular basis is close at hand now and with everything organized again it was easy to grab things and to put them away.  My first project was a card for several challenges.
My Craft Spot- Sew much fun.  Use stitching!  I am so excited I finally had room for my little Pixie sewing machine I bought to sew paper months ago so for the first time I sewed on a card.  I love this look.
The Paper Variety- Make a Birthday banner.  I love to make banners on cards and layouts.  I chose to use 4 different shapes from Birthday Bash and cut the shapes out at 2 inches.  I then used the same cart to cut the letters out to spell SING at 1 inch.  I used Baker's Twine to thread and added gems and a Happy Birthday stamp.  On the inside I cut out One Year Older from Phrases cart.  Each phrase is 4 layers.
Also I used the sketch for Celebrate the Occasion.

Instead of ribbon I used the banner to divide the card in the middle.

Made this card today for several challenges and to increase my card stash.  Used Wild Card to make the Round shaped card for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge.  Then I used Birthday Bash to cut out the elephant for the Cricut Cardz Challenge which is to use a Jungle animal to make a kid card. Finally the cake is also from Birthday Bash and is for the More than Favors challenge which was to use a birthday cake.  The paper is cordinations cardstock and the pattern paper is  from the new DCWV Baby Girl Stack and was scraps from a layout I just finished.  I added pearls, google eyes, ribbon and three tiny buttons.
