CWC Craft with Cutters Challenge- Use a Flourish

Today's challenge is all about 'the flourish'.  I needed to make a special birthday card for my daughter, who's birthday just happens to be today.   I found this cute little cake with a flourish on the Imagine cart Yummy.  I also printed and cut out the extra flourish for the behind the cake and the inside.  The pink and blue background shapes were cut from Elegant Edges and embossed.  I added some Stickles, ribbon and a pearl.
The inside sentiment is also from the Yummy cartridge and has a hidden meaning.
There is a really popular diaper bag company that makes its home here in Ventura, California.  They are very expensive but several times a year they have an outlet sale here at the factory.  Well several months ago I went with my daughter and fell in love with this beautiful purple tapestry bag.  They call these tapestry bags "cake bags".  My daughter and I both loved it.  She ended up letting me get it and she got another bag.  Well I tried it out one time taking the train and decided it really didn't work for what I wanted it for so I have decided to give it to her for her birthday.  She is going to be really surprised. and excited.  So since this is called a cake bag the sentiment is perfect as in "You Take the Cake".
Hope you enjoyed my post and will stop by to see the other designers.

So excited to show you my Secret Garden Tag Star Album

I am so excited to share this project with you.  I think this will definitely be in my top 10 favorite creations for a long long time.  No I don't have a list written down just in my head but I am thrilled how this project came out.

Well as you have already figured out I love love love Graphic 45.  The new collection A Secret Garden is one of my favorites.  This paper is really popular at the LSS where I teach too.  Everyone loves it!
I love looking at the  Graphic 45 Blog as there are the most amazing artist from around the world and wow what they do with Graphic 45 is stunning.
So recently I saw a post with a
Tag Star Book by Sharon Ngoo.  I knew right away I wanted to try this amazing book and that A Secret Garden would be perfect for this.
The change I made was instead of using the smaller Graphic 45 Tags I used the Larger ones.
I taught this class yesterday and the ladies loved it and were so happy with their completed books.

Here is the book closed.
The seam bind ribbon is colored with ink and we tied a lock and key on it also from G45.
The Secret Garden title background was cut with Elegant Edges

Book open

The way the pages are cut and glued they form a double frame for each window.
We used Chipboard package 1
Added some twine and Stickles here and  there.
Here we punched leaves and cut out flowers with the Cricut.
This is my favorite page with the door on the right.
I found some little wood birds at Michaels we added to each corner and we punched a leaf edge with a MS punch I had that matched leaves in backgreound.
Edges done with another MS punch and scraps
This is the back.

Hope you enjoyed my project and that you will check out the Graphic 45 Blog or following them on Facebook.

Prima Divine double layout

Today I am teaching a class at the Scrapbook store where I work Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  For this class the students are making a double page layout, two cards and a tag using the new Prima line Divine.  I fell in love with this paper when I saw it at CHA and couldn't wait to design with it.
I cut a shape using Elegant Edges for this page and then used the outer frame leftovers for second page.

Prima flowers
The seam binding, textured ribbon, and chipboard rose are all colored with chalk inks or Distress ink.

The second page

I decided to make a birthday layout for pictures of my granddaughters birthday.

I used Artiste and Elegant Edges.

BBTB2 Challenge- "Love is in the Air" - Hearts or Cupid

Today for the challenge at BBTB2 my dear friend Brenda is challenging us all to  "Love is in the Air".  .  For your project you are to cut a cupid or heart using your Cricut.  I am really excited to share my project with you.  I made this pull out mini book for a class at the Scrapbook store that I teach at.  The paper is Authentique's Valentine paper. I loved the vintage feel of this paper and the cute little vintage graphics.  I used a stamp set I got from Close to my Heart for the 10 Things I Love about you.  I cut the different hearts and shapes from Elegant Edges and Doodle charms.  Each page has one of these shapes and a number on it so that personal things can be written on it.

I hope you will stop by each of the designers blogs to check out what they have made. Then share with us this week your Cricut projects with cupids or hearts at BBTB2.
Happy Craftin and Happy Valentines Day

BBTB2 Bird and Branch

Time for another great challenge at BBTB2.  Our design team member Jayne has asked us to use a bird and a branch for our creations this week.  I found several cuts I liked but fell in loved with this adorable owl and branch.
The owl paper is cut with Elegant Edges at 11 inches and then cut in 1/2,
The owls are from Hoot N Holler cut at 4 inches for the smaller one and 5 inches for the larger one.  The branch is also cut at 5 inches.  The title Your'e a Hoot was cut at 3.5 inches.
Pictures are of my oldest grandaughter Katie who just turned 3 a week ago.

The papers are from a Mambi stack I purchased at Michaels.
Buttons from my stash.
So check out your Cricut cartridges and let's see those bird and branch creations.  Don't forget to link up to BBTB2.

Day 5 of 25 at My Paper Crafting-Gingerbread-Holiday Baking

I am so excited to share my project today for Day 5  of the 25 Days= Gingerbread and Holiday Baking.
A while back I designed  a Christmas Memory/Recipe book.  I taught this class a few weeks ago at Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  I used the Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Collection, Farm House Mini book, Elegant Edges and From my Kitchen carts for cuts
 and many embellishments and ribbons.
Last night over 50 people attended the annual charity  auction to raise funds for Wounded Warriors and
Navy Relief Fund.  I am happy to say a lot of my projects were sold by silent or live auction including my album.  Here is the very generous new owner Mary Ann with me holding her book.
Here are the pictures - Warning very pick heavy
Front cover which opens into a story book
The pages alternate between picture mats
and pockets for recipes
The back of each recipe page is more of the Nutcracker story and music
