Cooking With Cricut Challenge-Card Outreach

I must say I am so glad I work way ahead on my Design Team challenges as I have been really sick for 5 days.  Leave it to me to get a child's disease that adults rarely get -Hand, Foot and Mouth.  If you don't know what it is you get blisters all over your mouth, tongue, palms and sole of your feet.  It is really unpleasant and doctor says I have a really bad case which will last for 7-10 days. So with that said I have not been scrappin at all. Not sure which is driving me crazier the virus or not feeling like crafting.

I made two easel cards for the Card Outreach for the two girls that are battling cancer.  The first is for Emily who I have already been in two blog hops for.  Emily's aunt Michelle is on Lasting Memories Design Team with me.

Bear Kisses for you is a Paper Crafting World file
The kiss is cut from duct tape sheets
I used a MS punch, gems, punched hearts and ribbon
Little flowers with pearls from Flower Shoppe
Also entering this card in Exploring Cricut challenge which is to use a Cricut Flower
and Die Cuttin Divas use pastels

The second card is for another girl who is 13 and also fighting cancer.
I used Rock Princess for this card and am entering this is the
Celebrate the Occasion challenge Just Because  (use pink)
and My Craft Spot challenge- in and out sentiment.
Girls Rock p. 68 cut at 2.3 inches
Wings and heart page 54 cut at  3.4 inches
Then I added gems, ribbon and punched hearts from scraps
I hope you will join us this week for the challenge and send these girls cards.  Please check for all the details on Cooking with Cricut and I will look forward to seeing what you do.  Happy Craftin!

FCCB 3 inch Valentine

It's Monday again and time for another Fantabulous Cricut Challenge.  I for one can not believe that January is almost over.  I guess I am having too much fun as time is flying by fast.
This week the challenge is to make a 3 x 3  Valentine.
This is the card I designed using Elegant Edges and Rock Princess.
I used Bazzil cardstock and a scrap of music paper you can see behind the rose and inside.
These are great cards to make to use some of your scraps.
The card was cut at 3 x 6 inches and folded.  I then cut the frame on the front two times in white at 3 inches and the shadow layer in pink one time.  I pop dotted the white frames to give it more dimension.
The Rose is from Rock Princess page 49 and was cut at 2 inches.  There are four different layers.  I added Stickles and some twine.
I used a $1 stamp on the inside and a little rose and heart from
K and Company Valentine embellishment bag.  The heart is pop dotted.
I hope all the DT projects have inspired you to join us this week for the FCCB challenge.
All the DT inspiration is posted today and you have until Saturday to enter.   I can't wait to see what everyone creates for this cute little mini Valentine challenge.  Happy Craftin.

Bad to the Bone layout- Humor challenge

This is a layout I did for the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge which was to use humor on your page. You can use funny photos, images and or incorporate words that have to do with humor such as laugh, giggle, chuckle and so on
Well I went through my stack of pics I still need to do layouts of and found several pics that I thought would work.  I ran my ideas by my husband and he came up with
the humorous title for this picture which I thought was so cute.  So here is my granddaughter Katie when she was 15 months old struttin her stuff with her dad's sunglasses.  The title "Bad to the Bone" from Rock Princess.  The paper is Flower Power from DCWV.  I actually cut the edges of the Paisley shape and changed to the orange paper so the pic would stand out and then cutout flowers from paisley piece with punches.
Well I like to do two page layouts so I thought what am I going to put on other side.  Then I found these pics of Katie when she was in her climbing (and falling) stage and she had two black eyes in a month.  My daughter didn't want me to scrap these but I think we need to remember the good and the bad,
The band aid is from Everyday Popup Cards and Ouch is from Smiley Cards.

Making three different cards challenge with the same base (She's a Sassy Lady)

Shes a Sassy Lady had a great tutorial this week and a challenge.  The tutorial is to make three cards with your Gypsy and change them up.  So I used a card cut from Damask Decor and made three different cards.  The first I used the Strawberry and vine cut from Rock Princess.  The second one I used a Penny Black Stamp and colored it with Bic Markers.  The pink cut is from Winter Lace and was leftover from earlier project.  The last card I used a Damask Decor cut on pattern paper.  I added ribbon, bling,  embellishments and stamped sentiments. Two of  these cards I am entering in other challenges.  I think Sheila is so right this is a quick and easy way to make cards.
This card is for the following challenges:
Birthday Sundaes- Use word birthday on front of card
Frosted Designs  Use coloring on project- Penny Black Stamp and Bic Markers
This cards is for the following challenges:
Tacky Tuesday on face book  Use the word berry
This card I used some butterfly embellishments and flowers I got on clearance and ribbon that came off a gift  bag.

Three Challenge Cards for this week- Check it out

Here are cards I made in the last few days for several blog challenges.
The first challenge at My Creative Time was to make a cricutless challenge using a sketch.   I used a MS punch around the page, a stamp from M's, and a circle and butterfly punhes.  I tried a new folding method on my ribbon and really liked it.   Paper Sweet Nectar K and Company and cardstock,

The second at Frosted Designs was to make a card using black, white and 1 color.    I chose black, silver and white for a birthday card for a 16 year old family friend.  Paper is Rock Star DCVW and cardstock.  I used Rock Princess for cuts but don't tell him.
.
The third is for the Mag Challenge using only the Paisley cart page 39.  I again used Sweet Nectar from K and Company, a stamp from Michaels, buttons, ribbon and a MS punch.

SMASH Book/Cricut Magazine Challenge Make It Your Own

I have been hearing about Smash books but wasn't sure what they were. Then there was a thread on the Cricut messageboard which led me to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PFsArr4Z1s and website http://www.eksuccessbrands.com/kandcompany/   The same day the May Cricut Circle Magazine came out.  One of the challenges was to take a project from the magazine and make it your own. There were many beautiful projects but  a lovely journal ion page 33 by Janet Wilkins caught my eye.  So since I collect things and they often end up in a drawer or box. I decided to make a Smash book using  an artist sketch book I had sitting around. I gently  pulled the wires apart just enough to take the cover and backing off and then covered them with one of my favorites stacks  DCVW Street Lace.  The Smash title is from Cricut American Alphabet cut at 1.25, the flowers are the Scalloped cut from Mother's Day Bouquet cut at 1.25 and 1.5.  The butterfly is from Rock Princess cut at 3 inches.  The mini chalkboard is from MichaelDirections for flowers s and I  wrote on it with a silver Sharpie. I also added  a MS punch cut,  Memory thread for the antennas, Diamond Stickles, a couple embellishments and ribbon.

Immortal Love Trifold Cards

After a week of being sick along with everyone else in my family with stomach flu I am starting to feel a little like myself again.  I wanted to post the rest of my cards for Valentines Day.  Hope you all had a sweet and fun day with your loved ones.
First are the two trifold cards I made with the DCWV stack Immortal Love I got at Joanns.  The roses were cut from Rock Princess and glittered with MS glitter.  The small hearts were embossed with Cuttlebug tiny hearts folder and pop dotted.   The words were cut with shiny red paper and a Cuttlebug folder.  Love the Twilight look.
