Memories in Tyme- All About Summer Blog Hop

Welcome to the Memories in Tyme blog hops - where you will find some seriously talented people who love to share their ideas with you! Our hop today and is anything relating to summertime - doesn’t matter if it is a layout, card, mini album, or decorating item, if it’s about summertime…it’ll be here!!! With summertime right around the corner - it’s all about the heat, sunshine, spending time outdoors, green grass, family, BBQ’s, parades…you get the idea!!!

Now, if you just happened upon my blog, then please go back to the beginning which is at Lynda’s blog (http://memoriesintyme.com/). Besides, the beginning is always the best anyway!!!
Let’s get started with the ideas -
Here is my double page summer layout of my cutey patootie granddaughters and my youngest daughter.
The cute little Summer corner came from the Straight from the Nest cartridge page 75 cut at 3 1/2 inches .
The grass is from the same cart page 41 cut at 3 inches.
The cute little tree is from page 39 cut at 4 inches.
The pattern papers are all from a Mambi stack and the cute little embroidered flowers are actually to iron on fabric but I got them for a quarter at a rummage sale. I thought they went perfect with the paper. The letters are stickers from my stack and spell "outside" and "family fun."

Only in California would you find the girls all bundled up and  dad in shorts and flip flops.  LOL

Chillin with my Peeps layout

This is a layout I made for two challenges.  The sketch is for the "Let's Get Sketchy" Sketch Challenge.  I am also entering this in the Cricut Circle National Scrapbook Day challenge "Old and New".  For this challenge you were to use an old Cricut cart and a newer Cricut cart.
This is my granddaughters first taste of a "peep" on Easter.
The bunnies were cut from Doodlecharms page 85 at 4 and 2.5 inches. The paper I used is a glitter paper I found in my stash that actually looks like real peeps.
Chillin with my Peeps came from Straight from the Nest page 61 cut at 4 inches and I cut the bird off.
Paper from my stash and ribbon from Michaels.
Here is the sketch from Lets Get Sketchy

Butterfly Kisses Layout

I did this layout yesterday for The Paper Variety challenge which was to create a layout with favorite photos.  Here is my double page layout I did of my granddaughter with her mom.  These pictures were taken at our local fair this summer in the butterfly display.  Was so fun as the butterflies landed right on her head for some great shots.  I used DCWV Mariposa Paper,  Straight from the Nest,  Damask Decor, MS butterfly punch and gems. I also used little butterfly embellishments I got at a museum near us that had a similar butterfly display.  They have two layers so the wings stick up.   On note is that whenever I use Damask Decor I am careful to pull the pieces apart.  I often use the other cuts as well.  In this case I used the smaller butterfly that was punched out and some other pieces.

My first Thursday tutorial for FCCB and a BUNCH of layouts

Today is my first day doing the Thursday Tutorial at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge at FCCB is Birthday Bash or making your own birthday card.  Come join us for a new challenge every Monday,  So with keeping with the them of Birthdays you will find several great birthday ideas.  First of all a link to a trifold birthday card tutorial by Shes a Sassy Lady.  Also you will find two links on how to make a tealight birthday candle.  Please stop by and check out these amazing projects.

Also I wanted to share a bunch of  layouts that I completed this week.  They are all rather simple as I am trying to make a dent in my picture pile.  For a lot of them I used the paper designs and added titles using my Cricut and a few other cuts as needed.
For this one I used Baby Steps.

I used Mickey font for some misc pictures.  It says Play and Busy, Curls and Hats.

The Bloom title and flower and butterfly embellishments are from Michael's $1 bin.  The paper is DCWV new Baby Girl Stack.
Baby shower using Create a Critter Monkey
Second Baby Shower used paper from Zoo Stack.  Title Its A Baby Shower from New Arrival.
Large owl from Paisley and Owl Always Love You title from Straight from the Nest.

Easter Chick card for BBTB2 Challenge-Chillin with my Peeps

Today I made this card for the BBTB2 Challenge this week.  We were to use the chicken from the Easter cart or another chicken.  I used the chick from Just Because as it looks more like marshmellow peeps to me.    The title Chillin with my Peeps is from Straight from the Nest.  The Happy Easter on the inside is from the Easter 2010 Seasonal Cart.  The papers I used are from Flower Power DCWV stack.  The card size is 4 x 9 which will fit in a business envelope and folded unevenly with a 1/2 inch edge on bottom.  That way the ribbon on inside edge shows on front also.  I cut grass with MS punch, added Stickles, feathers, and buttons for eyes.

Straight from the Nest Card for BBTB2 challenge

I made this card today for the BBTB2 challenge.  This is the first time I have made a card for this challenge.  The challenge was to use the bird cage from Straight from the Nest or a birdhouse.  I have had this cart for awhile but hadn't tried it yet.  Used MS bird and branch punch. The bird is popdotted  and layered 3 times.
