Christmas class layout

This is the last layout class I did at Busy Bees where I teach for 2015.  I really enjoyed creating a layout for each month.  The ladies and I had a lot of fun and looks like we will continue classes next year.

Hello crafty friends, 

It's Suzanne here from Cricut craftin grammy ready to share another amazing cut file from Paper Crafting World.  I created this page to either use with yummy Christmas baking pictures or for the pics of our yearly Gingerbread house decorating.  Can't you just almost smell the yummy fragrance of gingerbread or cookies baking in the oven?  

I thought the exhausted gingerbread cutie was perfect since this is the way you feel after a long day of baking and decorating.  

The paper was old Christmas paper I had in my stash.  I added inking to the gingerbread and a little white Pearl Pen.  I used a fine black Sharpie for the eyes.  

Lasting Memories Funny Holiday happenings challenge

I guess in honor of this weeks challenge at Lasting Memories- I was a Ding-a-ling and forgot to schedule my post.   I was gone over the weekend with family spending two days at Disneyland.  We had a wonderful time so here I am admitting to being a Ding-a-Ling.  

 National Ding-a-Ling Day 

Date When Celebrated : Always December 12

Today is  National Ding-a-Ling Day, a very special day to "Ring your Bell".  Nope, we're not talking about the Salvation Army Bell Ringers, standing with their bells and kettles, outside of every store in the country. On National Ding-a-Ling Day, you should brace yourself for bizarre and crazy behavior, from all of the people you encounter today. Even normally conservative people have been known to go a little crazy on this day. Some people say this is a day for wackos, lunatics, and others who are off their rocker. We say, it is simply a day to cut loose, act a little weird. What do you do to celebrate this day? Be ever vigilant to the ding-a-lings that will come out of the woodwork. Ding-a-Lings will be everywhere: on the road, on the street, in stores, and even in your house! We suggest you get into the holiday spirit, and become a ding-a-ling yourself......But, please do so for just one day.  

For the record: Ding-a-Lings and Ding Bats are not quite the same thing.

So for my creation I created an Elf on a Shelf layout using paper from my stash and files from Silhouette.  The two elves are cut files and the House Under elf Surveillance is a print file.   Both my daughters do Elf on a Shelf with the grandkids so I am sure I will get some cute pics to add to this layout.

Lasting Memories Holiday baking challenge

Today is a new challenge at Lasting Memories to get your creative juices flowing.  When : Always December 8
National Brownie Day celebrates chocolatey, chewy brownies.
Brownie lovers, love chocolate. Conversely, chocolate lovers, love brownies. Therefore, its only natural, that we have a special day to celebrate brownies. It's fun and easy to enjoy this special day. First, select your favorite brownie recipe, and bake a batch of brownies. You can add nuts, if you prefer. Topping the brownies with chocolate frosting is a good thing, too. Finally, eat them! You can have them for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or as a snack.

Here is my layout in preparation for some holiday baking or could be used for pics of putting the gingerbread houses together this year.  The paper was old paper from my stash and I used a Martha Stewart gingerbread punch.  The cute little gingerbread train, boy and girl are from Silhouette and are Print and cut. They matched the paper perfectly.

Let's Scrap sketch challenge for December 1st- First Nutcracker

It's time for a new challenge sketch at Let's Scrap.  Michelle created another awesome sketch for us with lots of different photo sizes.  I decided to scrap a Nutcracker Ballet theme with Graphic 45 Nutcracker Suite paper.

My oldest daughter and I took my granddaughter to see her first nutcracker.  We had so much fun.  

We were so lucky that when we came out of the auditorium after the big rush there were several ballerinas in the foyer so we got some great shots with Kenzie.

Lasting Memories Home for the Holidays

This month at Lasting Memories we have several different but related challenges each week. We are sure you can find something to get your creative juices going.

Today is  National Roof Over Your Head Day. It is a day of appreciation for the things we have, starting with the roof over our heads. For most of us, a roof over our head signifies living in a house that protects us from the elements, keeping us warm, dry, and cozy. Unfortunately, not everyone is as lucky as you and I. There are many homeless people right here in our country. Some people live in a cardboard box on the street...... literally. There are millions of people around the world who live in poverty or disaster areas, and do not have a home to keep them comfortable and safe. Spend a few minutes  being thankful that you are not homeless, and appreciating your roof and home today. Also make a contribution to a homeless shelter, so others can come in out of the rain.

I decided to scrap a layout for my home during the holidays.  We always strive to keep Christ in Christmas and celebrate the birth of Jesus our savior.  All the cuts are from Silhouette America.  The star paper was from my stash.  I also printed the verse from Luke 2:11 from Silhouette America.  

I envision pics of the grandkids in their Christmas program at church, playing with the nativity figures reenacting the Christmas story or lighting the advent calendars for my picture.

Believe in the Magic of Christmas at Disneyland

I know I know I said I was done with Christmas pictures awhile back but you never know what you will find when you are cleaning your craft desk.  Yesterday one of the grandkids was sick so mommy stayed home and I got part of the day off.  I still had to run Micah to preschool and pick him up.  So I decided to start working on my craft room.  Still have more to do but I have more desk space now which I needed.  

I found a couple little piles of pictures that had disappeared in the pile and been forgotten about.  I found these adorable pictures of my grandkids Kenzie and Micah with mommy and daddy at Disneyland at Christmas.  They got great pictures with Santa, Mickey and the giant tree.  Even though I was right in the middle of another layout I decided to do this one up as I want to put all my Christmas paper out in storage.  

This stack of red, black and white paper I bought last year at Michaels is perfect for Disney pictures.

My last Christmas layouts

Here are my last Christmas layouts for 2014.  The title Christmas at Grandmas came from the Silhouette store.  Love this picture of me holding all 4 grandkids.  So hard to get them all to hold still.

Elf on the Shelf and Christmas PJs layouts

Just a few more layouts to post and I will be done with Christmas.  These two were so fun.  The Do not bribe the Elf was from the Silhouette store and the Christmas Pajamas was from PPbN designs.  

Can you spot the mistake on the elf one?  When I loaded the title the Elf with the dots was supposed to be cut out in a different color but I was yacking away at crop and didn't notice.  So when I offset it for the pink background it made the shadow for everything and I glued it on that way.  Oh well it could have been worse.  Love the picture of my husband reading Elf on the Shelf to granddaughter.  

During the holidays they were gone a few days to Grammy was in charge of the elf and had to send pictures of the naughty elves to them.  

This year Kenzie and Micah got Elf on the Shelf PJs for their Christmas pajamas.  

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party layouts

These are some pages I did of my oldest daughter and her family at Disneyland during Christmas.  The paper I used was a stack I got at Michaels this Christmas.  

For this title I print and cut the Very Merry Christmas Party title from google search.  

The Merry Christmas title and Mickey and Minnie with Santa hats for this next page came from PPbn Designs.  Isn't that Santa the most gorgeous Santa you have ever seen?  

Another Graphic 45 Twas the Night Before Christmas layout

I used Twas the Night before Christmas from Graphic 45 for my night before Christmas photos.  I love the Graphic 45 colors and graphics.  These pictures are of my grandkids Kenzie 4 and Micah 2 all dressed up to go to Christmas Eve services with us.  The twine with the wood beads was from Hobby Lobby.  

Kenzie loves getting dressed up and Micah looked so handsome in his red sweater.  

Christmas layout with Heidi Swapp

This is a Christmas double page layout I did using Heidi Swap Believe collection.  I loved this paper and bought several stacks.  The pictures are of grandkids Micah and Kenzie

 on Christmas Eve and on a shopping trip.  

All dressed up and ready to go to church.  

Lasting Memories challenge Anything Goes with "Life's Moments"

Our challenge theme at Lasting Memories this entire month is "Life's Moments".  For this the final week it is "Anything Goes" with the Life Moments Theme.  

For my layout I used Graphic 45 Twas the Night before Christmas paper.  

I love Graphic 45 paper and always have to buy some to use and then I hoard some too.  

Ii inked all the edges with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink.  

The twine for the banner and to tie the tag was from Hobby Lobby.  

The doilies I got after Christmas from Michael's Recollection.  

The brads, pinecone, pointsettias, leaves, heart clip and Santa key 

embellishments were from my stash.  

I fussy cut the frame edge and the large Santa circle.  

The holly and clock and stamps are also fussy cut.  

The pictures are of grandkids Kenzie and Micah at the local nursery with Grammy and Papa.  

They always have the most amazing decorations at Christmas and when I saw this gorgeous Santa and sleigh with a deer I had to get pictures.  

Of course being typical Californians he is wearing long sleeves and pants and she is in a Summer dress but that is how we roll here.

Lasting Memories 224 Cookies for Santa

Our challenge theme at Lasting Memories this entire month is "Life's Moments".  For this week the theme is "Captured Moments".  

For my layout I chose these photos of grandkids making "Cookies for Santa."  

There is nothing better than captured moments of sweet little ones.  

Last year we got these cute little Elf on a Shelf apron and 

chef hat outfits after Christmas on clearance. 

 They looked so cute wearing them and were so excited.

The first page is my granddaughters Katie and Brittany 

and the second page is granddaughter Kenzie and grandson Micah.  

The cookies for Santa title came from Silhouette America #71332 and is pop dotted.  

The Christmas cookies are also from SA #70507 and 70506.  

I inked the edges and pop dotted some of them to make them stand out.  

I added some peppermint candy embellishments and 

Christmas tree paper clips I had in my stash.  

For this page I also used a chipboard frame.  The plate Kenzie and Micah are holding I created with 

with a red charger from Michaels, white vinyl, and another file from Silhouette America.  In the 

framed picture you can see their little milk jar that goes with it.

Candy cane wreath- my last one for this year

This is my last post of Christmas wreaths and or decorations for this year.  My daughter asked me to make her a red and white wreath for her this year.  I went with the red, white and silver mesh.  Red and white ribbon, ornaments, candy cane ornaments and the mesh loops which I love.  

The red bell I got at the Dollar Store.

I had forgotten that the condo where they now live had a red door so was thrilled how it looked on the door.  Megan's family loves the wreath and will enjoy it for many years to come.    If you still want directions for these wreaths you will find it on this post.

Frozen fans check this out

Well as I am sure many of you are Frozen fans as my grandkids are I decided to make a Frozen wreath for one of my granddaughters.  All the cuts are from PPBN designs cut at 5 inches and I collected them in a swap.  The directions for the mesh wreaths are found HERE.  

This one has snowflakes and snowballs on it too.

Cookies for Santa plates for grandkids

Hope you all had a blessed Christmas with your family and friends.  Today I wanted to share my favorite little cooking elves.  This year I made plates and milk glasses using a Silhouette America file.  You can see the plate and milk glass in the first picture.  The grandkids are dressed in their elf aprons and hats ready to cook their cookies for Santa.  Aren't they so cute!

This is Katie 4  (soon to be 5)  and Britt 3.  

This is the picture we got of the grandkids with me.  I am not sure which is the hardest to believe- that they are all in one picture or that I am in the picture since I am usually taking the pictures.  

The kids all had to hold their special creatures.  

Christmas ornaments for this year

Here are some of the ornaments I made this year for family and friends.  The first group I saw on a facebook group.  They are found my searching for stained glass images of Disney characters etc.  I added them to my Silhouette mat and then printed and cut them at 3 inches.  They are rolled to put into ornaments and then I added snow, glitter or stars and attached a ribbon on top.  

I also made these ornaments.  The files for these also came from a facebook site.  

The heartbeat of a Disney addict is cut from vinyl and added to star.  The Disney confetti one is Mickey shoes, heads, pants and gloves cut and put into ornaments.  

The last one is Jack using a file from PPBN designs.  

Christmas layouts Day 3 with Simple Stories

Today is my last day at CHA in Anaheim.  

I decided to share the last Christmas layouts I completed using Simple Stories paper.  I love the vintage feel and cute graphics.  These are pics of my grandaughters Katie and Brittany.
