Helping Grammy scrap layout

This layout  made using the Live out Loud paper from Quick Quotes.  This week for National Scrapbooking Day the Cricut Circle had a color challenge to use green, aqua, orange and black.  I right away thought of this jazzy paper.  I also used a sketch from Creative Scrappers #206.
This is a picture of my granddaughter one day when we were in my craft room.  i turned my back for just a second and she proceeded to dump all my tubes of quilling strips all over the floor.  It was like a giant pile of pick of sticks.  Needless to say the strips are now all in one box as I was not about to sort them all again and try to put them back in the tubes.
For the cuts I used Cricut Everyday cart
The Circle head is from page 21 cut at 5 inches.
Live, Love and Laugh is cut from page 31 at 3 inches.
The scissors are from page 56 cut at 3 inches
and the tag is page 65 cut at 5 inches.
Here is the sketch.

How fun is that?
So here is a picture of my project:

I went rummaging through my junk drawers to find something I could use to recycle and decided to use some magnets I found in the drawer.
I used the Cricut Everyday Cart to make the cuts  at 3. 50
I then glued them to the magnet pieces and added twine, Glossy accents for the Gypsy screen
and black beads for eyes on the Cricut head.

Here are the magnets I got at a collectible show almost 10 years ago.

Next stop.... Go see what Tammy http://bowmancrafts.blogspot.com/ has in store for you today... And when you're done with the Cricut crawl

14-Cooking with Cricut St. Patrick's Challenge

I am really excited to share my project with you today for the Cooking With Cricut St. Patrick's Challenge.  I am also excited to see what all the other designers created.
For my card I made a
Twisted Easel Card (Directions  ( used can be found here.)
This card is made with a 5 x 10 base folded in 1/2.
I used Cricut Everyday for the Cricut head cut at 3.5 inches
The rest of the cuts are from Paper Doll Dressup
The large shamrock at 4.5 is cut out two times for thickness
The beard is cut at 6.0,  the hat at 5.0 and the small shamrock on the bottom at 2.0.
The tie is a shoelace from Joann's $1 section and I used gold trim on the hat.
The shamrock on the bottom is pop dotted to hold the easel card in place.
On the back are typed directions.  They explain to remove the shoe lace and shamrock Cricut head piece.  The lace goes through a piece of paper on the back of the shamrock to wear as a necklace.  It can then be put back on the card.
I hope you will join us this week and create a project for the challenge at Cooking With Cricut.  I would love to see your creations and Happy Craftin.
I am also entering this in the Cricut Circle wear something green challenge , the Bitten by the Bug 2 Shamrock challenge, and the Getting Cricky with K Andrew green, white and one other color challenge, She's a Sassy Lady -anything challenge, Cricut Cardz Challenge- Wearing of the green, More than Favors- St. Patrick's Day

Multiple thank you cards

Sheila at Shes a Sassy Lady has a challenge this week to make multiples of a card with your Gypsy.  I decided to design a new A2 size thank you card to send out when I send out blog candy or when I win blog candy.  I got 9 Cricut heads on a 12 x 12 sheet cut at 4 inches from Cricut Everyday.  The thanks is from the Phrases card cut at 1.25.
I then embossed the pink background paper and the cricut head with two cuttlebug folders. Then  I added little pink and green flowers.  I wanted something simple and pretty flat so there would be no extra postage.
Here is the entire set.
Oh the reason there is only 8 in the pictures is I already sent one out today.
Entering this at Shes A Sassy Lady- multiple card challenge and also
Frosted Design- use card stock only/no patterned paper

Yipee! SIL made me a shelf for my E2 and E

My SIL Robert made this wonderful stand for my E and E2 from directions on the Cricut Circle  from Maile Lei.  I have so much more room now as I love my new E2 but couldn't part with my teal E I got for Christmas.  It is on a metal Lazy Susan so the right side pic is when I am not cutting and the left when cutting.  I used Cricut Vinyl and cut phrases and head from Cricut Everyday.

This is a closeup of the vinyl and also a pic of all the Ikea Bygel rods my SIL has hung for my collection of MS punches. Isn't he the best?   I have had to store the holiday MS punches  in boxes for now but we will soon be making another trip to Ikea to get more rods.

Altered sign for my craft room

This is my complete project for the challenge on She's a Sassy Lady.  The challenge was to make a Home Decor item, weld on your Gypsy and use a flower.  I bought this sign for $1 at a thrift store.  I painted it and sprayed with Glimmer Mist to tint.  I then designed my project on my Gypsy.  My blog name is done with MS Elegant Cakes font which is welded together.  The flowers are the Scalloped flower from Mother's Day Bouquet.  They are cut at 2", 1 3/4", 1 1/2" and 1 ".  I wet each cut and crumple them up then smooth them out carefully to dry.  I put 6 to 7 layers together and punch a hole with my Crop a dile and then add a brad.
I used Diamond Stickles on the flowers and title.  The circle image is from Cricut Everyday and I added gems to bling it out.  The leaves on the flowers and the butterfly are a MS punch.  I then added $1 Michaels ribbon around the edges.  Now I have  sign for my craft room.

Cricut Circle March SPRING CLEANING CHALLENGE

I was very excited about this challenge when I saw it was coming up in last months Cricut Circle magazine because I wanted to use my new Cricut Everyday cartridge to decorate my craft space.  I have always been an organization freak at work and school.  Here are the directions for the contest and then my pictures.  Remember you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.

SPRING CLEANING CONTEST!

How do you store your Cuttlebug Folders, Cartridges, Paper and Ribbon… not to mention your favorite Cricut tools?? We want to see it… and so does everyone else that needs some inspiration!!
CONTEST RULES: This is easy… just submit your one of a kind storage idea and it must involve at least 4 Cricut items… like Cricut Machines, cartridges, Cuttlebug, folders, booklets and/or  tools.

1.  I used to keep my carts in fishing lure boxes and then one day I was looking at a hanging organizer I had jewelery in.  I tried it out and it was perfect.  So I cleaned out the jewelery and have since bought a second one at Tuesday Morning.  This week I made 26 cart cuts with the alphabet on to organize them from Cricut Everyday.  These hang on my cabinet that I keep a lot of mIsc. stuff in and my tv to keep me company when crafting.   The clear pockets make them easy to find and as I add carts there is lots of room and the letters can be moved as needed.  Each pocket can eventually hold 2 carts.  (There are about 135 carts right now using the fronts and backs spread out.)

2.  This is the stack of drawers that I keep all my overlays and handbooks in. The drawers came from Staples.   Each pocket is  labeled and holds the overlays and handbooks.   I used the Cricut Everyday and Lacey Labels to add colorful labels.  On the top of this I keep my Gypsy and all my cords in this pink metal container.

3.  This is the section I keep my Cuttlebug machine, my 3 boxes of folders, my Your Story and a bunch of my embellishments and assorted misc. items.  Again I used Cricut Everyday to cut out the Your Story title, and make the Cuttlebug pics which I added 1, 2, and 3 too.

The green wire baskets and the green and pink tubs came from Target.  The black and white photo boxes are from Michael's. You can see my Cricut clock which I posted a couple weeks ago.  I also got this at Target and the plastic front was easy to remove to decorate with Cricut Everyday. http://cricutcraftingrammy.blogspot.com/2011/03/bitten-by-bug-2-challenge-st-patricks.html  I also have a Cricut green small wire trash can that I put scraps in when crafting until I file them by color. Keeps my desk a little cleaner while working.  If you have any questions please ask.  Thanks for looking!

I have been seeing some really cute clocks on the Messageboard so decided to make one of my own for my craft room.  Got the clock at Target last week for only $3 and the plastic cover comes off easily.  I cut a 7 1/4 " circle with George out of background paper and then made a slit to center so I could put it around hands.  The letters were cut at 1 1/2 " from Everyday Cricut.    It  says Time  2 Craft.  Between the words I used the blank Cricut head.  I punched 1 inch pink circles to make the letters stand out.  I cut the Gone Buggy at 4 inches and slit it also to put around hands.  Then added the antennae to the back of the clock.  (Sorry I forget what size I cut the antennae.)  This will be fun to hang in my craft room.

Using Cricut Everyday and Duct Tape to decorate my scrap tote

I had decorated my cart for the Los Angeles CHA CC crop with  vinyl.  I liked the way it looked and got a lot of comments (even Jinger saw it and said she wanted to scrap lift me) but by the time I got home the vinyl was peeling off.  :(  I wanted to redo it when Cricut Everyday came out.  This time I cut my MB name and the the cricut logos, etc. from Duck Tape using Cricut Everyday.   The logo on the top right corner is my Cricut Craftin Grammy initials with the circle head.   I redid this as it matches my calling cards.   Michael's has had duct tape in many beautiful colors for awhile but now they have 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of duct tape that you can cut right on your Cricut. The green is perfect for Cricut letters and logos.   It has a backing so its just like cutting vinyl.  I think it will stick much better to the canvas of my scrap tote.  Doesn't my little bug look so cute hanging on my bag?
