Amy Jo's Birthday Bash and Blog Hop

Good morning, fabulous friends and welcome to Amy Jo's Birthday Bash & Blog Hop! We are so excited you could join us today to help celebrate Amy's birthday!

This is a very special unique hop as we were not required to just stick with one particular subject or theme. Amy asked us all to use any of her favorite things to create a card or project with that in mind. Some examples of Amy's favorite things are the colors black, white, and hot pink, along with anything Alice in Wonderland, she listed some of her favorite animals, etc!

If you arrived here from Lisa, then you are in the right place! If you just happened upon my blog today, please start at the beginning with Amy Jo because you don't want to miss out on the fabulous prizes that are being sponsored!

This is a two-day hop; however, we are only making one project. That should give you two full days to go through the entire hop and leave comments on each blog and become followers of each blog, if you are not already, to be entered to win some of our sponsored prizes! Some blogs may be offering blog candy as well so this is a hop you're gonna wanna finish!

I work with Amy Jo on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Design Team. Not only is she talented and creative but a really sweet lady. I have really enjoyed getting to know her. I am so excited to be a part of her blog hop and to make something special for her to help her celebrate her birthday. So here is my gift to Amy.
I started with a small Tim Holtz box and decorated it with 7 Gypsies Lillie 8 x 8 stack I got awhile back at Hobby Lobby.
I also used some Tim Holtz elements and other items from my stash like the see through clock and mini heart chalkboard. The flowers are rolled spiral roses from Art Philosophy cut at 3 inches.
The papers are all inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
This is the front of the box.

"Time to Celebrate" Lasting Memories Challenge- First Birthday

Who doesn't like to celebrate no matter what the occasion?  Well this week it is time for the "Let's Celebrate" Challenge at Lasting Memories.  I was excited for this challenge as I have a ton of birthday pictures from November  when my granddaughter Kenzie turned 1 and in January when my oldest granddaughter turned 2.  I choose these pictures of Kenzie eating her first cake on the left and on the right having her first Pazookie(giant cookie) at BJ's with mom and dad.
I used the February sketch from DCWV for the Stackaholic Challenge and
DCWV Celebration Paper.  The rosettes were made with the Tim Holtz Rosette die cuts.  I also punched designs from the DCWV paper with a one inch punch and glued into flattened bottle caps.
The cupcake is from Sweet Treats page 28.  The icing is embossed with Divine Swirl and the heart is glitter paper.  I used birthday stickers from my stash for the words.

23-Sweet Sassy Diva Invitation Challenge - Two Gender Reveal Invites

This week the challenge at Sweet Sassy Diva is to make an invitation.  I actually was asked to make a couple invites for my oldest daughter and son in law as they just recently found out  they are expecting their second child.  They were thinking it would be fun to do a gender reveal party so I made two different invites for them to choose from.  If you don't know what this is let me explain. You invite your family and friends to a party to reveal whether you are having a boy or girl.  Usually by cutting into a cake that is either blue or pink.  That way you share the joy of finding out the gender together.
For the first card I used my Imagine and Baby Boutique.
I embossed the white background with a Sizzix love folder.
The prince and princess medallion were cut at 3 inches and pop dotted.
I then found black and white paper and black with white polka dot ribbon in my stash.

This is a mock up of the inside.

The second card is made with my Imagine and the Nursery Tails cart.

I cut the house page at 7.7 with my Gypsy to fit on my card.
It was too wide and I didn't want to distort the picture so cut the sides to use and threw away the center piece.  I cut the girl and boy medallions at 2.5 at the same time.
Here is the front of the card.   You can see piece that was cut out of center

I also added a dress, oneside, and bibs at 2 inches to the inside flaps.
The medallions are popdotted so they can be removed.
I added some tiny blue and pink safety pins.  For this one they are asked to wear the medallion to vote for whether they think it is a boy or a girl.
Hope you enjoyed my cards and ideas.  I can't wait to see what the rest of the DT makes this week for the Invitation Challenge.

Two toddlers in the house means no crafting

I usually watch my 15 month old granddaughter but my just 2 year old granddaughter is staying with us for 3 days.  They had a crazy good time together today.  Was so fun watching them play together.  So glad I am ahead with DT projects, blog hops etc, as I will not be doing any crafting for a few days.  So much for challenges  this week.  So if you don't see me posting some days you know I will be running around like crazy after two little ones.

Wedding or Anniversary card with Love Struck

I made this card today for a couple challenges.  The rose paper came from my stash and was actually paper we bought when planning my oldest daughters wedding 6 years ago.  The little red roses are left overs from wedding invites.  I think I still have a couple 100 left.  I embossed the Love Struck Couples cut and then ran my Vintage Rose Tim Holtz pad over it to make the little hearts stand out more.  If I don't use this for a wedding I think I will save it for my daughter and son in laws anniversary in May.
Entering this in the following challenges

I am so flattered that I was scraplifted

A few weeks ago I was the guest designer at Passionately Artistic and you may remember  I made a  rolled rose wreath with Art Philosophy.  Well last week  Linda M.  emailed me and said she loved my wreath and that she wanted to make one.  So we chatted back and forth and a few days ago she sent me her completed project.  Isn't this absolutely gorgeous?  I love the colors and the big red bow.
I am so flattered that she contacted me and used my tutorial.  It makes all the work and time you put into picture tutorials worth while.  Linda doesn't have a blog so I asked if I could share her beautiful wreath.
I would love it if you would comment on her wreath so I can share it with her.
Thank you Linda .  Your wreath is stunning.
Here is My Original Link  if you want to see the directions.  I give directions for cutting these with Art Philosophy and by hand.  Linda cut her roses by hand.  So it can be done.  Woo hoo!

For the hop today, I've created an angel wing album. I actually started this in a class in December at my local Scrapbook store with Lance from Rusty Pickle. I kept thinking about finishing it and then I saw the Song Blog Hop. I knew right away I would use the words from an old song "Earth Angel" to finish my album and give me a title. Here are the song words which I printed out and put on the pages.
Earth angel, earth angel
Will you be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you
Earth angel, earth angel
The one I adore
Love you forever and ever more
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you
I fell for you and I knew
The vision of your love-loveliness
I hoped and I pray that someday
I'll be the vision of your hap-happiness
(Oh-oh-oh-oh)
Earth angel, earth angel
Please be mine
My darling dear
Love you all the time
I'm just a fool
A fool in love with you
The first two pictures are the cover and the back side. The rest of the pictures are the pages.
The cardboard was pre cut out and then we roughly painted with white paint.
The front page has strips folded to make it look more like wings out of the various papers we had in our kit.
We used Glimmer Mist, Chipboard, embelllies, lace, ribbon, and ink to decorate the cuts.
Title cut with Lyrical Letters
Hope you enjoyed seeing my book and it might give you some ideas for making a mini book.

Layout challenges with new Mambi paper

While at Joanns last week I found the cutest new stack of Mambi paper by Me and My Big Ideas.  I knew right away it would be perfect for baby layouts.  Such cute prints and colors.
So here is my first double page layout.  I used a sketch for both pages for different challenges.

The left side is a Frosted Designs sketch.
Here is a closeup of the banner
The words were cut from one of the pages
This is the sketch

The right side of the page was a  Blog Quick Quotes sketch.
