My Paper Crafting challenge= Using lace

Today it is time to use lace on your project at My Paper Crafting.  I used lace trim, a lace punch and cut a circle from Lacey Labels.  The stamp is a Prima Paper Doll Stamp.  You stamp and cut out the doll and then stamp her clothes and cut them out.  It's a lot of fun like dressing paper dolls.
Please join us for the challenge at My Paper Crafting.  and add lace to your projects this week.

DCWV Stack-a-holic template challenge- Peek a boo Its' a Boy

Time to share my layout for the DCWV stack-a-holic template Challenge for August.  Each month DCWV provides a layout sketch and a card sketch for you to design with.
Here is the layout sketch for this month and I fell in love with it right away.

This is my page using the new DCWV Boy stack.  The pics are of the ultrasound to find out the gender of our new grandchild.  After two generations of only girls and three granddaughters in a row we were thrilled to find out it was a boy.
One of the first things I did was buy the DCWV stack.
The peek a boo title is from B is for Boy cut aqt 3 inches.
The circle is from Lacey Labels cut at 3.5 inches
The banner was made using a 1" circle punch.
The little turtles from my stash matched the turtle on the journal tag
This is the second page of the actual ultrasound pics to go with the first layout.

Nov 27th Lasting Memories Color and sketch challenge

Boy did this week go fast.  With traveling to relatives for 4 days, having oldest granddaughter (22 months) for two days, Thanksgiving and shopping this week flew by.  Today my goal is to finish loading all my carts onto my replacement Gypsy. With almost 200 carts and being the third time I have had to do this it is an exhaustive process.  I hope third time is the charm.
So for my layout today for the Lasting Memories color challenge  I am going to be totally honest with you,  I did this layout before I to visit family for Thanksgiving week.   I totally forgot to write the info down or lost it for this layout.  I finally found  the large circle and you and me on  Lacey Labels.    The pictures are of my  3 grandbabies.  Not an orange person but I loved the purple, orange and hot pink combo.  I used the cut out leftover on the right.  Used the teardrops from large cut on left to make base of flowers on the right.
Paper is Pocket of Posies Stack from DCWV

Hope you will join us this week for the Lasting Memories Color Challenge.  We would love to see how the picture and sketch inspires you.  You have until Saturday December 3rd.

Graphic 45 Primer ABC Back to School altered project

The minute I saw the first pictures of the new Graphic 45 ABC Primer paper I knew what I wanted to do.  I love Graphic 45 and being  retired teacher I love, love, love this paper,  My only problem is I always hate cutting up at first,  For this I used 12 x 12 single sheets, 8 x 8 pad, chipboard embellishments, Graphic 45 matching stamp sets, several different ribbons and school brads I found.
The book shaped box was from M's on clearance.  I covered the box inside and out  using Mod Podge.  I then made an accordian book with craft paper card stock .  Each was cut 6 x 7 inches and then scored 1 inch on side  and folded it to glue pages together.  I then put some of stiff ribbon on end to have a pull out piece so pages wouldn't get stuck.
Here is pics of finished front, side, back and inside.
After that I cut paper 14 each smaller than pages and decorated. I used Lacey Labels to cut some shapes.  I also used Tags, Bags, Boxes and More to cut out tags of different shapes and sizes.   I used a lot of ink on the edges.  After decorating one side I turned and did the other side and then glued the last tab into  the book.
Each page has pockets with one or two tags which pictures could be added to later as well as journaling.
I am really pleased the way this turned out and hope you liked it as well.
I am entering this in the following challenges.
Cooking with Cricut  School Days Challenge
Blog Quick Quotes  Back to School Challenge
You Had Me At Craft  Made it My Self Mondays
Paper Issues  Learning Curve linking party
My Pink Stamper School Theme

Four birthday cards for my MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) Group

I am a mentor mom at my church for MOPS which stand for Mothers of Preschoolers.  We meet every other week and our next session starts up this month.  I have volunteered to make birthday cards this year for all the ladies.  I thought it would be fun to make birthday cards for challenges and that way I would have a whole bunch of different cards.  The cards need to be flat so they do not require a lot of postage.  So here are the first four cards I made:
For this card I used Lacey Labels and a MS punch.  I am entering this in Die Cuttin Divas- Sketch Challenge

and Cooking It Up With KatieThis week's ingredients are:Use some Purple,Add a Bow and
Include a Sentiment.

The next card I used twine, stamp by Penny Black  and colored with Prismacolor pencils.  Added butterflies I punched out of scraps.
The Paper Variety Use stamp on project.  Paper Variety is celebrating the one year of their blogaversary with a challenge each day.
This card I am entering in More  Than Favors- Use Gypsy Wanderings for butterfly and Celebrate cut and
Peachy Keen Stamps Blog  follow the sketch
This card I made with a  piece I had left from a layout.  I loved  the roses.  I added the ribbon and covered the word Love with the Happy Birthday stamp.  Added a few pearls.

Spooky Halloween Rosette Banner

The challenge this week at Sweet Sassy Diva is to make a Halloween Banner. Now is a great time to start on Halloween so you can get all your home decorating ready for October. All week the Design Team will be sharing their Halloween Banners so this should give you lots of idea to get started.
Here is a picture of my finished banner hanging up.

Here are some closeups.
To make the banner I started out with two 3 inch x 12 inch strips of paper.  I chose 6 different prints since there were 6 letters in Spooky.  Smaller prints or stripes work the best.  I then took a MS Punch and punched down the edge on one 12 " side.   I will tell you a secret if you do mess up on one side you can do the other side and use the messed up side in the center.
Next I score using the punch as a guide.  So for this one I scored after two valleys in the cuts  which is about 1/2 an inch.
I then accordian fold the paper and glue the ends together with hot glue.
Cut two circles with a punch or Cricut.  Push the circle of paper down and glue a circle to the top and a circle to the bottom to hold in place.
I then cut orange and black circles from George at 4 1/2 inches and scalloped circles from Lacy Labels at 3 1/2 inches from leftover rosette paper.   I added some ribbon and large buttons I had in my stash which I threaded with twine.  The letters were cut from Happy Hauntings at 3 inches in Cricut green so they would stand out.

Thanks for looking and hope you like my "Spooky" Banner.  Please stop by my blogspot to see what else I have been up to.  Also make sure you come back to SweetSassy Diva everyday this week to enjoy the designers great Halloween banner projects.  Happy craftin everyone!
