Blog Quick Quotes Challenge

I created this layout using some old Quick Quotes paper that I still had in my stash.  I love the bold colors and chipboard butterflies.  Used a couple of awesome quotes from them too.  

The pictures is of two of my granddaughters at home.  Such sweet faces.  

Here is the sketch I used for the challenge.

I went through some of my printed pictures and found these adorable pics of my granddaughter Brittany 3, planting seeds in a cup at her kids group.  

For the paper I used Blog Quick Quotes Summer Samba which is an older paper.  

 I love the bright turquoise and dark orange.  Such a fun tropical feel.  

I cut my Hibiscus in three sizes using a nesting pattern from Silhouette America.  

I then recut using the dark orange pattern paper without the cutouts edges.   

I added yellow paper to back for centers and then used yellow Stickles.   

I also added yellow Stickles to center of flowers on background paper.  

I used a vellum quote from Quick Quotes as well as cutting out some words from a tag to add the words Dream, Believe, Explore and Discover.  

The flowers and mats were inked with Red Hot Powder Puff Ink from Quick Quotes.  

For the pictures I matted one and cut the other one out for interest.

Blue is a color I gravitate to a lot when scrapping as it is my favorite color.  

The colors and contrast of this paper really made me feel happy even though 

I don't usually like oranges.  I just think the color combo goes so well together!

Faith, Hope and Love for the Lasting Memories Faith Challenge

We are starting a new set of challenges today over at Lasting Memories.  Our theme for June is Amusing AntecdoteA and today is  -Faith.Amusing Anecdotes

For my page I chose to scrapbook pictures of my sweet grandson Micah when he was dedicated by his family to God at their church.  It was a very sweet and touching ceremony 

based in our faith in God.  Being a parent is hard work but with God we will raise our children up in the ways they should follow.  

I used old Quick Quotes paper and a Quick Quotes quote  I added branches and butterflies to the quote at top and bottom punched from Martha Stewart punches.  

The title was cut from Silhouette America and then I decided to add more tiny butterflies around the title symbolizing the transformation we can have with faith in Christ.

Joy

I had time to complete one more layout before I get ready for my three day 

weekend to Disney with my family.  

I am so happy with the way this one came out.  

I used old Quick Quotes paper Julie Je"taime and I  love the vibrant colors. 

 I also love how you can often mix and match papers form different lines of Quick Quotes.  Plus I really like the way the flowers came out because of the cool paper.  

The flowers are called 3 D cone flowers on Silhouette America.  You cut two of each and then glue them in a cone and layer.  

The papers are inked in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Dark Purple Ink.  

The title is from a Joy to the World title from Silhouette

but I only used the Joy part to go with the quote.

The pictures are of my granddaughters Katie 5 and Brittany 3 1/2.

The Quick Quotes paper had circles on it which reminded me of this sketch and then I added flowers and a quote from Quick Quotes for the journaling.

Cheese for 2 layout

I created this layout with a sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories.  

The paper I used is older paper from Quick Quotes.  I love the bright colors they use in their paper.  

The quote is also from Quick Quotes.  The letters are glitter Thickers and the buttons are from my stash.  I inked the edges with blue ink and used Washi tape from my stash .  

Instead of stars I used hexagon punched pieces and pop dotted them on the page.  

The picture is of my grandkids Kenzie and Micah.  One afternoon when I was taking care of them they wanted string cheese but there was only one left.  So this was there solution when I told them they would have to share it.  Kids do the darndest things.

Fabulous day at the park layout

This is a layout I did using the Sketches in Thyme sketch for Week 2.  I love sketches that have space for more than one photo as like most of us I have so many pics of grandkids to scrap.  

I decided to combine this with the 

Shop our Stash challenge. This week the theme is Lost & Found, and they would like you to use something you've recently re-discovered in your craft room. I thought this was a great challenge as I cleaned my scrapbook room a couple weeks ago and found lots of great goodies. 

 One thing I found was a stash of Quick Quotes paper that I had from 2011. ( I looked it up to see how old it was.) I love the bold bright colors of Quick Quotes.  This one was called Savy Davy.  

I took a couple Quick Quotes classes at a Scrapbook Expo and this was some of leftover pieces from a class I took.  I thought it was great colors for these pics of grandkids ( and my husband) at the park one day.  I inked all the pieces in Marschino Cherry Powder Puff Quick Quotes Ink.  I found some more paper by this company so will be making more layouts from this lost stash.

5th Birthday Celebration and two more challenges

The Friday challenge at  Blog Quick Quotes right now is Celebration. I used some of my old Quick Quotes paper Savy Davy and a little of Kids Explosion to create this layout of my granddaughter Katie turning 5.  In the Kit which I got at a Scrapbook Expo class we made a layout that said I see the Future in your eyes.  I changed it to I see 5 in your eyes by using a chipboard 5 which I colored with Alcohol Inks.    I love the bold colors of this paper.  I cut the paper with the numbers so I could highlight the age with the circle.  The banner I cut with a die from La La Land Stamps and used the cut out hearts on the layout.  For the inking I used Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Brandywine.

Long Beach Aquarium Hidden picture layout with Quick Quotes

Here is another double page layout that I did of our family trip to the Long Beach Aquarium in November. The first one I posted yesterday if you missed it.   I used Quick Quotes paper Savvy Davvy.  The blue around the edges reminded me of water.

I tried something new for the title.  

I cut out the words Aquarium and Long Beach using my Cricut and used adhesive spray that is repositionable on lay the letters down flat.  I then sprayed over them with Meadow Green Glimmer Mist.  This left the shadow for the title when the letters were removed.  This was a new technique for me and I really like the way it looks.  

Here is the left side.  I also cut out waves from the Cricut Cart Cake Basics and used the inside pieces to make it look like water is splashing up.  

These are my girls from left to right.  

Katei 22 months, Kenzie 12 months and Brittany (Katie's sister) 4 months.  

On the right side I used a hidden picture technique I learned at a Quick Quotes class to add extra pages.  

To make the booklet you cut two pieces of 12 x 12  paper in 1/2 and then fold in 1/2. 

The fold is glued at the top of the page, then another on top to the left, the next to the right and the last to the bottom.  Then it folds shut.

When it is all open I can write my journaling on the inside square.  That makes a total of 10 pictures on one page.  

I am entering this in the Frosted Designs Try something new-  since I tried a new technique for the title spraying the letters and then removing them from the paper.   

Hidden picture layout with Quick Quotes paper

I was so thrilled to get to sit down the last few days and scrap some pics of my granddaughters.  My husband and I went to the Long Beach Aquarium in November with our 3 granddaughters and one daughter and her husband.  We had a great day, got some great pictures and the two older girls really enjoyed the fish and the Lorakeets.  I knew the Savvy Davvy Quick Quotes paper I recently bought would be perfect for these pics with their bright colors.

Savvy Davvy Quick Quotes Paper

On the left I used the quote on the paper "miracle and wonder" which was perfect.   The "So Amazed" is Tim Holtz Chipboard sprayed with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Candy Apple Red.    I also used the Glimmer Mist on white flowers to match the colors of the paper.  The frame around the picture on the right was cut and glued together to fit the picture.  These were some scraps I had from a Quick Quotes class I took.  The ribbon is from Michaels.   

On the right side I used a technique I learned in the Quick Quotes class.  I cut a piece at 10" x 9" and folded it in 1/2 to make a booklet.  This is glued t the top so the protective layout cover can still go over all but the flap.  The green strip was an MS punch.  I also used some flower brads from my stash.

This is flap open for four more pictures.  Sorry the picture color is so weird.  I am learning to use my new camera that I got for Christmas.  LOL

I am still amazed how much the girls loved the birds and they had so much fun feeding them. 

I am entering this in the Paper Issues Challenge "We've Got Your Number" since this paper has numbers all over it and the More Than Favors Linking Party.  

Quick Quotes layouts from Scrapbook Expo

I had the opportunity to take several classes at the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario recently. I was lucky enough to take a class with Lisa of Blog Quick Quotes.   I finally was able to get the pictures in the pages and get the layouts finished up.  I love the colors of the paper pack which is called the Kids Explosion pack.  I couldn't wait to get these pictures developed of my oldest grand daughter Katie playing with her dad at the park.  Her shirt and the grass matched the color of the papers perfectly.  

The other layout we made was In Your Eyes I see the Future- I used these pages for my newest granddaughter Brittany.   There are 4 pictures on this page and the first page actually is a flip out book which holds 10 pictures total.  That is 14 pics on two pages.  How amazing is that.

I also did a layout for a Blog Quick Quotes challenge at the end of November.  The paper I used here is called Living Out Loud.  The challenge was to make a layout with white space following a sketch.  Here is the layout for the challenge.  

Here is the completed two page layout.  For the original page I added two more pictures and made a page to go with it.  The butterflies, leaf ribbon and flowers were in my stash and I thought went together beautifully.  

I just love the vibrant colors and how well all the papers work together.
