Sweet Sassy Diva- Rain, Rain with Hello Kitty

This week for Sweet Sassy Diva the Design Team was asked to create a project with an umbrella or rain boots on it.  I decided to make a layout with the cute little Hello Kitty Cricut cart.  The Hello Kitty in her cute little rain slicker and umbrella were cut from page 54 at 6 inches and the rainbow from page 51 at  4 inches.

The rainbow paper came from a DCWV stack from last year called Flower Power.
I embossed the cloud and some of the Hello Kitty cuts.
I added a few cardboard phrases and some gems
Rain, rain was cut from Sesame Street Seasons for the title.

Also entering this in the Paper Playtime Challenge- use an umbrella.
I hope you will come back this week to see what all the designers create to share with you.
Happy April and Happy Craftin.

Birthday table decorations for granddaughters Hello Kitty birthday

This Saturday we are having my oldest granddaughters second birthday.  I can remember her birth just like it was yesterday.  Boy was that a life changing moment.  So we are having a Hello Kitty party and here are the table decorations I made today using several Cricut carts.
Cupcake from Baby Steps (recycled from last birthday), large 2 from Something to Celebrate, Kitty heads are leftover invites from Hello Kitty cart, Happy Birthday from Hello Kitty cart, name in vinyl is from Mickey Font
White buckets from Target and are resused for each birthday.  Used oasis, tulle, and sticks are painted kebob skewers which can be resused.
Once the party is over the decorations can be used on birthday layouts.

Hello Kitty Halloween layout

Bitten by the Bug 2 is having a great challenge this week.  The challenge is to make a project with  the Hello Kitty cat or another cat if you do not have this cart.  I knew right away I wanted to make a Halloween layout for the cutie patootie pictures I plan to get on Halloween of my 3 grand daughters.  I cut out the two Halloween kittys- one is a cat and one a witch.  I also cut out the bat.  The title is also from Hello Kitty.  I added some beaded bat ribbon from the title and the too cute spider from Mini Monsters.   The webs are from October 31st.  The glittered pumpkin was a Jolee's embellishment I had in my stash.  I also used my MS spider web punch.  For the photo mats I used purple cardstock, some candy paper and some pumpkin doilies I got at the Dollar Tree.  Really happy with the way it came out.

LInk to making your own Baker's Twine and a birthday card

Today is my day to do the
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog Thursday Tutorial.  Today I have a great video I found on You Tube for making your own Baker's Twine.  Come on over and check it out.
Also I have  card to share today for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge to make a card with balloons.  I had this cute Hello Kitty Ribbon so I decided to do this cute cut from Hello Kitty.  The paper is from DCWV Sweettreats.  I added tiny sticky letters to spell out Happy on the balloons.  I used Memory Thread on the button and glued it to the bow.

Sun, Slides, Sand and Swing Layout

I found a great new challenge blog for layouts.  It is called
Black with Two  For September the challenge is to use DOMINANT BLACK CARDSTOCK
WITH YELLOW AND BLUE  and no other colors.  At first I thought black cardstock? -but I leafed through my pics and found these of my granddaughter Katie when we took her to the park and came up with this idea.  This was a really fun challenge and I am really happy with the way it came out. I am also entering this in The Paper Variety challenge which is to use your favorite embellishment.  Well I love using buttons!!!!!
Recipe- The swing and slide are cut at 3 inches from Pop-Up Neighborhood.  The title is cut from Nursery Rhymes at 1 1/2 inches.  The sun is cut at 4 inches from Hello Kitty.  I rotated the top cut with the shadow.  I also embossed and added stickles.  I removed the face with my Gypsy so I could use a Peachy Keen smiley face.  The sand is from Paper Dolls.  I then added paper mats using blue and some gingham paper which is light and bright yellow.  I finally embellished with blue and yellow buttons and Stickles on the sun.

Berry Sweet layout

Today I made a layout of a picture I just love of my granddaughter eating berries.  The strawberry is from Hello Kitty, the frame from Fancy Frames, the blueberries from  Cricut Essentials and Berry Sweet from Country LIfe.   The title is glued to a sheer ribbon and each brad has a strawberry charm hanging from it from Martha Stewart.

I am entering this layout in Stuck on Sketches which was to follow a sketch.

Lasting Memories which was to try something new ( I used Glimmer Mist to color the doilies and the clock background), Frosted Designs which was to use a clock, and the Cricut Circle Challenge which was to use a pop of color and 1 of something (strawberry die cut), two of something (brads and strawberry charms hanging) and 3  of something (blueberries.)

Two double page layouts- Nemo and Hello Kitty

Completed more layouts today following challenges using my Cricut.
The first is for Crazy About Cricut which is to do a project related to a family favorite movie.  While I was helping with new baby we watched an old favorite Finding Nemo.  My oldest granddaughter who is 18 months old likes to touch Nemo on the screen as they have a huge fish tank full of Nemos (clownfish).  This is her taking swimming lessons.  We always tell her to swim like Nemo.  Besides Best of Pixar and Micky Font I used Diamond  Stickles and a Pearl Pen.
The second double page layout I completed was for the Mag Challenge where you to were do a project using only page 65 from Hello Kitty.  Since I couldn't make a title with my Cricut I did it with a pearl pen and made it look like sky writing.

Thanks everyone for all the lovely comments yesterday.  I am so sorry that there is a problem and some of you could not see my shutter card.  I tried and tried to fix it till I was totally frustrated.  It was all rather weird that some people could see it and some could not.
Here is my birthday layout for today.  All the cuts are from Hello Kitty and the paper is the DCVW Sweet Stack.  I am sorry I don't have all the cut sizes.  I made this for the Layout challenge on HSN for the E2.  I am planning on duplicating it for one of my granddaughter's birthdays.  I used Memory Thread for the balloon strings.  Love that stuff.  Remember you can click on the picture to make it larger for viewing.
I am reposting my card from yesterday to see if all of you can see it today.  Sorry for the problem but after 3 hours I just gave up.  So hope this works today.

For my blog candy I will choose one winner by random.org.  to win a gift certificate for $10 at either Michaels or Joanns.  Leave a comment each day for two chances to win.  I will draw the winner on Monday morning.  I would love for you to become a follower if you have not already become one. Your comments are greatly appreciated.  You can now head over to Kristy's Blog.  If you want, you can stop by Tristans Craftin Times: http://tristans-time-4-craftin.blogspot.com/and wish him a happy bday.  He is unable to participate in his bday hop due to illness and loss of power and internet but he is with us in spirit.
