May Graphic 45 A Place in Time Layout Class today

I am so excited today I get to teach the next class in in my Graphic 45 A Place in Time Layout Series at Scrapbook Blessings in Newbury Park, California.  I have 12 lovely ladies signed up for these classes for the entire year so we are having a lot of fun and really getting to know each other.  

The first page is the design provided by Graphic 45 and sent out to the teachers.  It is a promotion/contest they are doing this year.  Our page follows that design except for the butterflies.  Instead of the Graphic 45 metal butterflies I used Sizzix chipboard butterflies painted with Silks.  I used Accent Essentials and Lacey Labels for the circle and scalloped circle.

Then I  design a second page for the ladies.   I love working with this paper.

My Paper Crafting- Irish Eyes Challenge

This is my Irish Eyes challenge project for today at My Paper Crafting. I made this double page layout for the monthly Graphic 45  layout classes I am teaching at my LSS.  The first page is made using directions sent out from Graphic 45.  using the March A Place in Time cut aparts page and Foundation page.  I cut the circles for the students with Accent Essentials  which made it quick and easy.  The doily underneath is inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  

The butterflies are chipboard I got in the bins at Michaels and coated with Inka Gold Copper Ink.

The second page I designed to go with the first.  I cut the shamrocks out with Paper Doll Dressup.  The rest of the page is the left over cut apart graphics and a rectangle doily.

Day 9 of 25 My Paper Crafting Mother's Day

Today the design team at My Paper Crafting will be sharing projects for May and Mother's Day.  

This is a mini album I made using Kaisercraft Periwinkle collection and the Graphic 45 film tin.  

The peach color flowers are Bo Bunny.  

I used the Cricut cart Accent Essentials to cut out all the circles for the pages.  

I will be teaching this class in January.  

I used it for my project today as if my mom was still alive I would have 

definitely made this for her.  She would have loved the vintage feel and the colors.

PCW Challenge- Anything Goes and use something OLD from your stash

It's time for a great challenge this week at  Paper Crafting World  It's 

Anything Goes AND...Must also use something OLD from your stash. Has to have been hanging around for at least a year.

I am making things for one of my granddaughters 2nd birthday party next week. I have tons and tons of Christmas green and red paper. I bought it several years ago after Christmas in a pack and the quality is not that great so it has been just sitting there. It worked great for the banner though that will be hanging up high. I also had these little tiny green brads I bought several years ago at a Scrapbook Expo. The only thing new was the polka dot paper I bought at Michaels on sale to match the Hungry Caterpillar theme.

I used Accent Esentials and Cricut Decals for the Antennaes.

The circles are cut at 5.5, 4.5, and 3.5. The letters are from Lyrical Letters the chubby font and the eyes and legs are hand cut.

BBTB2 Inspiration post- Use a circle

This week we are having an inspiration only post.  We were to  use a circle any Cricut cut circle to make a project. The DT ladies at BBTB2 have some awesome projects for you.  This was perfect timing for me as I was getting ready to make invites for my granddaughters 2nd birthday.  Since the theme is Hungry Caterpillar I knew I would be using circles to create the invites.  I used the circle cut from Accent Essentials at 2.75 so I could get 12 on a page.  The head is the same size circle welded with antennaes from 

Cricut Decals.  The eyes are ovals I cut out and a hole punch nose.  

For the envelope we added leaves made with a MS punch and a hold punched in.  

Each circle has a brad to hold it together and they fold up nicely into the envelope.  

Now as an added bonus here is my sweet little caterpillar my new grandson Micah at three weeks old. 

My daughter crocheted his Halloween costume and it will be perfect for  the birthday party next week too. 

Isn't he just the cutest little caterpillar you've ever seen.  We are so blessed.  

Cricut Circle Family Momentos Challenge

I had so much fun doing this layout for the Cricut Circle Family Momentos Challenge.  For this challenge we were to take a picture of a family momento and scrapbook it.  I knew right away what I was going to do.  

The story that goes with this page is about my grandfather and my great uncle.  My grandfather was the eldest of a large family and my great uncle the youngest.  You can see the picture of my uncle when he was a young boy.  I have always loved this picture and his adorable curls.  

So the story that goes that the time finally came for my uncle to start school.  As all the kids were walking  to school my grandfather decided that he didn't want everyone making fun of his little brother and callng him a girl.  so he took his pocket knife and cut all the curls off on the way to school.  My two great aunts gathered all the curls and put them in their school bags and took them home.  Needless to say my grandfather was in big trouble with his mom but probably saved his little brother from a lot of humiliation.  

So in the left corner is the candy box full of my uncles curls that my great aunt gave to me some years ago.  I am proud to say this adorable little boy grew up to serve in the European theater during World War II and lived to be in his 90's.

I used Graphic 45 School Days Paper, twine, brad, and Tim Holtz Distressed ink.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog-On the Go Challenge

Hello everyone- it's time for another great challenge at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog.  This week the challenge is "On the Go"- use a car, bike, train or plane.  I had some great pictures of my two oldest granddaughters on their tricycles.  For the first two layouts I used Designer Calendar for the title cut at 2 1/2 inches and the bike is from Boys will be Boys and cut at 8 ".

I also made these layouts using the same titles and a 9 inch circle form Accent Essentials, and the tricycle cut at 3 inches.  I used buttons and paper with circles to fit with the wheels.

Flower Shape Thank You and Handy Man recycle card

More rain in Southern California so I spent the day scrappin.  I got two cards done for some challenges.
The first one is from Shes a Sassy Lady and her great videos for Gypsy made Simple.   Sheila uses Art Philosophy in the video.  I used Accent Essentials so I could enter this in the My Creative Time Challenge and made it into a thanks for Celebrate the Occasion.  I always like to have thank you cards in my stash.  The paper is DCWV from Joanns.

This is my second card which I made for the Frosted Design Challenge.  For the recycle elements I used recycled foil and cardboard.  Some twine and washers from garage and some old stickers.

Challenge day- 4 different cards

The card above is  for the More than Favors challenge using Accent Essentials.  I used the shape page 79, the scalloped flower page 77 and fleur page 48.  Paper is Happily Ever After by DCVW and I inked with Tim Holtz Tea Dye.  Ribbon and stamp from Michael's $1 bin.   This is A2 size and will be one of my Cards for Soldiers.  

This triple twisted easel card is for the My Craft Spot  where the challenge was to make a man card.  I wanted to try a triple twisted easel card so I made this using Elegant Edges, Elegant Cakes and Heritage.  I am so hooked on making  twisted easel cards.

The above card is my Z fold card for the challenge at Paper Playtime,  I again used the DCVW Happily Ever After Stack and wedding bells from Sweethearts cart.  The stamp on right is pop dotted to hold card in place.  

This last card is for the challenge at Fantabulous Cricut to use white and bells.  I love all white cards so I used two different Cuttlebug embossing folders, bells from Sweethearts, MS punch, stickles and pearls.
