More rain in Southern California so I spent the day scrappin.  I got two cards done for some challenges.
The first one is from Shes a Sassy Lady and her great videos for Gypsy made Simple.   Sheila uses Art Philosophy in the video.  I used Accent Essentials so I could enter this in the My Creative Time Challenge and made it into a thanks for Celebrate the Occasion.  I always like to have thank you cards in my stash.  The paper is DCWV from Joanns.

Cooking With Cricut Challenge -April Fools with a Goofy Card

Woohoo it is time for another Cooking with Cricut challenge and Design Team post.
First I want to thank  Melin for posting two projects I did with her wonderful cutting files on Sunday. I was very honored. If you would like to see my layouts with Kelly and Keegan the Irish Bears and  the birthday cuccake bear check HERE. So now on for this week the challenge is "Make Me Laugh" - April Fool's use a pun or funny saying.  At first I was a little stumped about what I was going to do for this challenge.  Then I  came up with this idea.
The card is a 5 x 7 card and Goofy was cut from the Cricut Cart Mickey and Friends at 5 inches.
The question mark was cut at 2 inches.
Hint: It is always best with the Disney cuts to make them as large as possible to piece them correctly.
On the outside I typed the sentiment
Want to see something goofy? and then on the inside it says
You already did?
I hope you will join us for the challenge and enter your projects.  We would love to see what you create.

Make a Wish Upon a Dandelion layout

The weekly challenge for the Cricut Circle is the Decorative Letter Challenge Create a scrapbook page, card, home decor item, or other project where you include a word of your choice. One or more of the letters in your chosen word must be replaced by a Cricut shape.

I also combined this with Amanda Crafts and More challenge which was to use a sketch and share the sketch with your layout.  I immediately went on the hunt for a multi picture double page layout sketch and I found a great one at Page Maps to use.

March Map from Page Maps 2012

This is my adorable oldest granddaughter Katie in our backyard blowing on dandelions for the first time.  She had so much fun and made sure she found every dandelion in the backyard before she quit.  I chose to use the grays and reds of her clothes and found in my stash this wonderful Cosmo Cricket paper called Something Blue which came in a kit.
The large scallop circle was cut from Elegant Edges page 47 at 11 inches.
The small red circle under the doily was from page 23 cut at 4.5 inches.
The title was cut from Nursery Rhymes at 2 inches
Dandelions and Dandelion border from Storybook page 43 cut at 2.5 inches
The I in wish was replaced with a dandelion cut.
I added sticker letters so the full title is  " Make a Wish Upon a Dandelion"
The Once Upon a time tage and the little words all came from the kit.
They say bliss, happiness, joy and elation. These were pop dotted and inked on the edges.
I also used some crochet border and added Diamond Stickles to the ends of the dandelions.

I am really happy with the way this came out and love the colors.
Thanks for looking and Happy Craftin.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog- Out like a Lamb

Two weeks ago the FCCB challenge was "In like a Lion".  The second part of the challenge is "Out like a Lamb."  Before I tell you about my  double page layout let me apologize for the picture quality.  I didn't realize how bad they were and I already gave the pages to my daughter so I can't retake them. The last two pictures show the colors a little better.
The  pictures are of my youngest granddaughter Brittany who is 8 months old.
I used the DCWV French Country Stack which is so beautiful.
The title Our little lamb was cut from the Cricut Nursery Rhymes Cart.
Mary had a little Lamb and Little Bo Peep were also cut out from Nursery Rhymes.
I used Martha Stewart punches, crocheted flowers, Recollection flowers  and  Seam Binding ribbon.
I hope you will join us for the FCCB challenge this week.  "Out like a lamb" Make a project using a gentle animal... lamb, kitten, puppy etc.... I can't wait to see everyone's projects.
Happy Craftin!

Bunny Card for a couple challenges

Just hopping by with an Easter card that I made from cuts for an Easter layout that I at first cut the wrong size.  I can't show you the layout yet but rather than waste these cute little bunnies (4") I made them into a card.
The background striped  paper is Bella Blvd. Spring and Easter Fling paper. The pink dotted swiss look paper is a Recollections stack that I got at Michaels and it is preembossed for sanding.  Dotted swiss really reminds me of Easter when I was a kid and my mom made me dresses for Easter.
I used scraps for the rest.  The yellow strip is a MS punch and I weaved some carrot ribbon ( MIchael's) through the frame. I used PK faces and chalked the cheeks.
I bought a pack of stickers and used one on the front that says Little Honey Bunny
Here is the inside and the inside sentiment sticker and eggs.
Entering this in the Sous Bunny Challenge and the BBTB2 bunny and chick challenge.

Lasting Memories Challenge- How Do You Layer?

The challenge this week at Lasting Memories is "How Do You Layer?"- do you layer paper, ribbons, flowers, cuts?  I made this Happy Bearday layout for some of my middle granddaughter's birthday pictures.  The banner was cut from the Cricut Cart Birthday Bash at 3 inches  and then I printed the letters at 1.5 inches with the Imagine cart Hopscotch. I layered the letters on to the banner cuts. I used Twine to hang the banner from.
The bear is a cutting file from Melin at Paper Crafting World. If you haven't seen these awesome files and digis please check them out.   This is an SVG file that you can cut with SCAL.   The design is split into pieces on the computer screen and you cut all the pieces and then "layer" them together.  I really like the dimension this gives to the cuts.  You can also pop dot cuts which gives them even greater depth.  I also use layer by making mats and I also added punch gifts and cupcakes to the corners.
The prize this week for one lucky winner this week at Lasting Memories  is a $10 gift certificate to
Here is the sketch for this week.  Remember you do not have to use the sketch.  It is just to give you ideas.  The challenge is to use layers this week.
Have a great crafty week and hope to see your projects this week at Lasting Memories.

23-Welcome Spring altered plate

Hello everyone.  This project started out with a pink plate I got in the Easter section of the 99 cent store. When I saw it last week I thought it would be something I could alter for Easter or Spring.  Maybe add some vinyl to it but then I changed direction and this is what I came up with.  This has been a slow process as I haven't been feeling well this week but little by little I designed it on my Gypsy, finally got it cut out and then today I chalked my cuts and put it all together.  I am really happy with the bright colors.  It's going to look so cute in my entry.
I cut a lot of the layers double and pop dotted them.  In fact I got a bunch of pop dots at the 99 cents store to.  So now I have a great stash of those.
The flowers I punched  with an EK success punch and I added flower buttons to the top.

Cooking with Cricut- Welcome Spring challenge

It's time for the Cooking with Cricut challenge and Design Team post.  This week the challenge is Welcome Spring and we were asked to use a song for our inspiration.  I thought of several ideas for songs using Sun etc.  and then I thought wait a minute what does Spring mean where I live- Strawberry Season.  The fields in our county are loaded with berries right now as we have had  unusually warm winter weather.  Also in May we have a Strawberry Festival for two days in the next city over.
Here is my completed layout using The Beatles song " Strawberry Fields Forever."
The cute little Strawberry shortcake bears are from Paper Craftin World and designed by Melin.
The strawberries are from the Cricut Cartridge Indie Art cut at 4.5 inches
and the title "Strawberry Fields Forever" is cut from Printing Press at 2 inches.
I used white gel pen for stitching, chalked the edges, used a white Pearl Pen on the whip cream and red Stickles on the top strawberry. I also used a Martha Stewart Punch.
Check out the amazing Digital Stamps and Cutting Files at
Paper Crafting World. com. Melin has added some new files that are really cute.
Pleas join us for the Cooking with Cricut challenge this week and help us "Welcome Spring" with a song as inspiration.  Then link it up to Cooking with Cricut so we can see what you create.  Happy Craftin!

Sweet Sassy Diva Design Team project- Layout sketch

I am keeping with the Spring Blooms theme from last weeks DT challenge for Sweet Sassy Diva.   I made a Spring layout of my youngest granddaughter.   I had this wonderful stack of flowered paper from K and Company from last year.
I used the daisy and striped page.  I also cut and used the page with the large  butterfly and daisies for the bottom corner.  I used a flower punch for border strips and added MS flower border trim from my stash.

I used my Gypsy to search the word bloom for the title. I used this cut from Just Because.  There were several different ones but I choose the cursive flowy one instead of block letters.
I then doodled on the letters to make them pop with a Sharpie.
I think sketches are a lot of fun and can't wait to see what the other Designers create with the sketch this week.  Hope you enjoyed the post and Happy Craftin.

19 Spring in Air FCCB

It is not my regular week to post for the Design Team for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog but this project fit the challenge so I decided to add it this week. The challenge this week is "Spring is in the Air"- use a minimum of three flowers on your project. So I will be honest  I am totally addicted to making rolled flowers and made this initial for one of my granddaughters.  So of course I will be making two more now.  I made letters  for  Christmas gifts done in Christmas colors and then made a Valentine wreath in red and pinks.  This I wanted to use Spring Colors.
Here is the completed letter
Closeup
The letter starts our like this.  There are a variety of letters
in wood or  paper mache at any local craft store.
This one was already white but otherwise I would paint the letter white.
These are the K and Company packs I used. They are double side bright papers.
I used four different center cuts from Flower Shoppe.
I cut all the flowers at 3 inches and then roll them with a quilling tool.
I glue them with the glue gun and then add them to the initial.
I hope you will join us this week for the FCCB challenge- Spring is in the Air- use a minimum of three flowers on your project and link it up to FCCB.   I look forward to seeing what you create.
Happy Craftin!
I am also entering this in the Cricut Circle Monthly Challenge- Creative Sharing Challenge which is to create some kind of wall decor using at least three colors and two different Cricut cuts.
