Bitten by the Bug 2- Little Boy Bllue

I am the hostess for the challenge this week at BBTB2..  I came up with this challenge "Little Boy Blue" as my first grandson is due anytime now.   This is a big change for our family as I had two girls and they have blessed me with three girls so far.  I am looking forward to scrapping in blue now.  So for this challenge I am asking the design team and everyone up for the challenge this week to create a project using the color blue.  Remember you need to use the color blue.  It does not have to be a baby project.    I can't wait to see what everyone

FCCB- Trains, Planes, and Automobiles Challenge

Today is double Design Team challenge posts for me.
The first is FCCB - "Trains, Planes and Automobiles"
The Second is BBTB2 - "Honor 911"
So please check out both my posts and join us for the challenges.

This week at Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog its "Trains, Planes, and Automobiles"- create something using a mode of transportation.  This was a perfect challenge for me right now as this weekend was my daughter's baby shower in anticipation of the birth of her 2nd child Micah.  My daughters have blessed me with three granddaughters and now we will have our first grandson in about a month.  I am really having fun cutting out "boy" things.

The banner pieces are cut from Birthday bash at 5.75 wide from page 59.
Micah is cut from Nate's ABC  at 2 inches
All Star comes from Life's a Party and the other cuts are all from
Boys Will be Boys cut at 4 or 4.5 inches.
Here are some closeups
Would love to see what you create this week and hope you will join us for the challenge at FCCB.

BBTB2 Challenge- Make a Shape card

For the first challenge of September our BBTB2  Design Team sister Stephanie
has asked us to design a shape card.
I knew right away I was going to make a card for my daughter's baby shower coming up this next weekend.
I already had the cuts I wanted on my Gypsy as I had made invitations for the shower (See below).  So all I needed to do was weld the shadow mitt cuts to make my shape card and make all the cuts bigger.
I used the Boys Will be Boys Cartridge
Mitt cut at 5 inches from page 29
Bat and Ball page 39 cut at 5 inches
The All Star is cut from Life's a Party page 47 cut at 9 inches.
Micah was cut from Nate's ABC at .75 inches
I embossed the ball and the bat

Inside of card
Here is the invitation that motivated me to make a matching card.
I am having fun making 'boy" themed things after 3 granddaughters.  Next I am working on more goodies for the shower.  So stay tuned for more!
I hope you will join us this week for the "Shape Card" challenge.  Remember to link up to BBTB2 by Saturday.  Happy Craftin!

Weekly challenge #23 Guy Stuff Challenge- Cruisin Truck

This is my card for the challenge which was to incorporate at least three of the following types of materials on your project. (Hardware items, stars, raw cardboard or chipboard, twine, string, paint, buttons, staples, or distressed edges)

To make this card I used Nifty Fifties for the truck and the phrase Cruisin is from Boys Will be Boys.  First I embossed Silver Duct Tape that comes in a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet at Michaels with a cuttlebug  folder to make the background.  Then I cut out the truck and  title pieces.  I used tiny bolts for  the wheels, twine, and a button and washer for the bow.  I am leaving the inside blank for now.  I thought later I could add Cruisin...." to wish you a Happy Birthday"  or "by  to say thank you" or  "by to say get well."  Anyway you get the idea- so for now the inside will be blank.  Love the way the duct tape looks embossed.
