Last SOUS challenge- Wings diecut

We have been having card exchanges the last few months at the scrapbook store where I teach.  First we did birthday cards and then now we are doing general cards like: Thinking of you, Get well, etc.
For my cards I used the Silhouette America easel butterfly which was quick to cut out 20 of these.  I cut the base in black and then used paper I have had a long time in my stash.  I loved the colors of the paper and perfect for butterflies.  Then I mixed and matched and added pearls to the body.

The stamp inside says to wonderfully you from thankful me.  There are tiny brads on each side to hold it in place when standing.
So I am entering this for the last SOUS challenge which is a Wings diecut challenge,
Thank you to Nanne, Leah and all the DT ladies for this great blog and their great challenges.
Sad to see the blog stop but hope to see you all and your creations in crafty land.

Lasting Memories Together theme

It's time for a new challenge theme at Lasting Memories and this month it is Together.
For my layout I used some Selfies of me with two of my grandkids.
Nothing better than spending time with grandkids.
The grandma frames are cut from some old paper I had in my stash.
The title from Silhouette America and the flowers from my stash.

Please join us for the challenges this month.  Check out the blog for the Design Team inspiration layouts.  There will be a new challenge each week at Lasting Memories  beginning on Sunday but you have all month to complete the challenges.
Also DT member Lori is offering up a prize this month.
Isn't this the cutest paper by Lori Whitlock?

It's beginning to look a lot like Disney

With the help of some sketch challenges going on right now I completed two more layouts for my 60th anniversary Disneyland album.
For the first one I used the My Creative Sketches - June Sketch and Simple Stories Paper.

Here is the sketch

For the second page I used the
Shop our Stash - sketch and make a card with leftovers challenge
Instead of hearts I used Mickey heads cut at various sizes with my Silhouette.
I also used Simple Stories paper and washi tape.
I then made a card out of one of the extra Mickey heads.  The tickets are from paper that is matting the pictures on my layout and the bottom is a 4 x 6 card I hadn't used.
I added magic thread to the Mickey head to make it a balloon.

YUM Die cut with a view layout

I almost missed posting this for the DCWV stack this month.  I was putting some layouts away and saw it and realized I hadn't taken the picture or posted it yet.
I created this layout following the sketch and using the stack Vintage Collector which I love.
I love the vintage look and the soft colors.  I added some word stickers, trim and washi but otherwise all from the stack including the title letters.

 Here is the awesome sketch.
The pictures are of my daughter and grandkids are her birthday dinner last month.
I printed them with my Picturemate Printer so was able to adjust the sizes for the sketch.

Please send all submissions to meganlloyd(at)dcwv(dot)com by June 29th at noon.

Disney Naptime and On the Go for Let's Get Sketchy

I love doing challenges with sketches and Let's Get Sketchy  has great sketches every week.
The first one here is from week 3 and I used a Disney theme.  For the circles I used a Mickey and Minnie cut out.  The Naptime title is using my Silhouette and Waltograph.
I added flowers, washi, and slide frames.
Here is the sketch I used Let's Get Sketchy week 3

Next I did a layout of my grandson Micah zonked out in his car seat on the go.
I used DCWV paper and cut out a car from Silhouette America.
.0.

Many faces of Micah

Here is a page I created using the sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories  #126
Another great multiple picture sketch which is what I need to get my pile of pictures smaller.
Actually I should say multiple picture piles.  Don't we all!
I followed the sketch and cut the pictures into squares.
I used some letter stickers for Micah's name and some clear word stickers for the journaling.
I also added some little dots to go with the sketch and the polka dot paper.

Here is the sketch

Sweet Dreams Baby

Plugging along doing some great challenges and getting more pics of my grandson Micah when he was a baby scrapbooked.   This was a great sketch for these pics of my sweet boy sleeping.
I loved the soft colors of this old stack of paper I had.
I even found a few embellishments to add to it.
The scalloped edge is a Martha Stewart punch.
I used the June 15  from Stuck ?!

Dreams really do come true

Love the Simple Stories Enchanted Paper line and it was perfect for these pics from one of our recent Disney trips,  Since it is the 60th anniversary of Disneyland its all about glitz and shine.  My granddaughter fell in love with this jacket and every time she sees it she shows it to me.
It was quick and easy to use the Enchanted paper and embellishments with
the Sketch N Scrap sketch for Twistback Tuesday #86
We were also supposed  to use Washi tape and I used both Enchanted washi tape and glitter tape.
Oh and by the way Grammy bought the jacket the last time we were there.

My Little Boy

What better way to catch up with some pictures you need to scrap then participating in challenges-
especially multiple picture challenges.  I am trying to finish up a pile
of pictures of my grandson Micah.  Isn't he such a cutie?!
The paper is from a DCWV baby boy pad and the little metal Little Boy title was from my stash.
For this one I used the sketch from Sketch N Scrap  sksetch 83

Swim like a fish

I created this layout with some great pics of granddaughter Kenzie, Simple Stories, and
this great sketch from Stuck on you Sketch  for June 19th.
The title Swim like a Fish  is from Silhouette America.
I am really going to miss the SOUS challenges and wish Nanne and the DT all the best.
Here is the page I created to go with it of more fun pictures at the pool.
That's me in the center with grandson Micah and papa in the pool with them.

Sweet Dreams baby boy

I am trying to finish up scrapbooking the baby pictures of my grandson Micah.
I decided to use some challenge sketches to get some pages done.
So fun looking at these pictures.  He is 2 1/2 now and on the go all the time.
For this page I used a sketch from Sketches in Thyme #154
I used a variety of baby papers  from my stash.
I triple matted the photos and added some stickers to the pictures and for the title.
For the circles I used buttons.

Graphic 45 By the Sea layout

Summer is here and we live in a California beach town.
The picture is of granddaughter Brittany flying a kite at the beach
I knew right away I wanted to use the Graphic 45 By the Sea paper for the
Frosted Designs Summertime Blues Challenge  -anything to do with summertime or blue things that remind you of summer: skies, beachesflowers...
With the Graphic 45 I used burlap, corrugated cardboard, net, seaglass, shells and starfish
I also used punched sand dollars and diecut ships wheel and anchor.  .
I inked the edges in brown and dark blue.

I also used the awesome sketch from the
Sketches in Thyme challenge #153

I'm a guest designer at Stick it Down

Hi everyone- today I have some exciting news to share.  I was asked by the Stick it Down Challenge Blog to be a guest designer this month.  I am so excited they asked me as  I love doing the challenges at Stick it Down.  Each month they have a double layout sketch,
a single layout sketch and a card sketch.

For the double page sketch this month I decided to use some pictures from a recent trip to Disneyland with my grandkids and our visit to Pooh Corner.
The sketch has room for 5 photos and I divided the two on the left side in 1/2 so was able to use 4 smaller 2 x 3 photos.  For the circles I cut out Mickey head balloons from PPBN designs.  I also used some random stickers and Disney words from my stash.
So here is the awesome sketch.  Check out all the sketches at Stick it Down and all the great DT inspiration and join in.
Thanks again Stick it Down for having me as a guest designer.

Little Things Challenge at Lasting Memories

First of all I hope everyone has a wonderful Father's Day today.  It's always fun to spend time with those we love and honor them.  We will have all the grandkids here so it will be a fun time.
Today for the Lasting Memories challenge "It's the Little Things".
The little things that occupy the biggest part of my heart is my sweet little grandchildren.
They are so full of joy and fun
I created this layout of granddaughter Kenzie and grandson Micah in our downtown area.  Someone painted an old piano with wild colors and each day they unlock it and people can play it.  Of course the kids loved this.  They thought it was so fun!
I cut the title and music notes from Silhouette America and matted my photos.  I added a few stickers to the corner of the photos and left it at that,  Nice and Simple.
Please join us for our challenges posted each Sunday.  We would love to see your creations at

Disney Friends with PPBN file

Plugging away on my Disney pages and I created this double page layout with files from PPBN.
The title I created using Waltograph font and a Mickey head welded together.

I am entering this at Shop our Stash
This week's theme is Out On A Limb, and we'd like you to use a tree, branches, foliage, or something similar on your project.
I love the little trees that go with this file.  I embossed them with a heart embossing folder to make them pop.

I

Graduation cards

Used my Silhouette to create some graduation cards I needed.
So quick and easy with my machine.
Also used some embellishments I got in the $1 bins at Target.

Super hero teachers

These are the cards I made from Silhouette America for my grandkids preschool teachers.
For the program the 4 year olds sang a song called Jesus Your My Super Hero so I knew this was the perfect card for them.
I personalized the hair to each teacher.
The sign is a Print and Cut and the Super heros are layered.
They really liked them!

Since I am off today for another Disney two day trip I thought I would post my pictures of the Paint the Night parade from opening weekend in May
I printed the pics at 2 x 3 size on my Picturemate Printer so i could get a lot of pics on the page.
I created the titles We love a Disney parade and Paint the NIght with Waltograph font.
I  added some Mickey embellishments to the first page and the second page I add some Mickey Silhouette Stickers and cut out the Mickey Sorcerer hat from PPBN Designs.

Showing off our Jammies

Here is my two little sweetie grandkids Kenzie and Micah showing off their jammies.
I used this great sketch from Let's Capture our Memories .
The top  1/2 of the page is a vellum overlay and
I cut the letters for the title out of a paper from my stash.
The flowers and circles are also hand cutout and I used
a Chevron punch and added backing.

Flower love layout

Check out the challenge this month at Blog Quick QuotesFlowers for Summer, please use handmade paper flowers (stamped or cut) on your project
and you can make any kind of project!!!
I went through some of my printed pictures and found these adorable pics of my granddaughter Brittany 3, planting seeds in a cup at her kids group.
For the paper I used Blog Quick Quotes Summer Samba which is an older paper.
I love the bright turquoise and dark orange.  Such a fun tropical feel.
I cut my Hibiscus in three sizes using a nesting pattern from Silhouette America.
I then recut using the dark orange pattern paper without the cutouts edges.
I added yellow paper to back for centers and then used yellow Stickles.
I also added yellow Stickles to center of flowers on background paper.
I used a vellum quote from Quick Quotes as well as cutting out some words from a tag to add the words Dream, Believe, Explore and Discover.
The flowers and mats were inked with Red Hot Powder Puff Ink from Quick Quotes.
For the pictures I matted one and cut the other one out for interest.
I hope you like it.

Also linking this up to the challenge at Use Your Stuff- Color Me Happy!
Blue is a color I gravitate to a lot when scrapping as it is my favorite color.
The colors and contrast of this paper really made me feel happy even though
I don't usually like oranges.  I just think the color combo goes so well together!

Let's ScrapChallenge- Disney Eggstravaganza

I am especially excited to share this layout for the Let's Scrap challenge for June 15th.
I wan't sure what I would do for this sketch until I saw the photos my daughter took at the Disneyland and California Adventure Easter Egg hunts this year.  I knew right away I could print out small pics with my Picturemate printer for the small squares.
On the left is pictures of the two maps you get at the parks.  As you find the eggs you get stickers and when you are done you get an egg.  The pictures in the middle are the castle, Goofy, the grandkids sleeping in the stroller and the Walt and Mickey statue.
The eggs I printed out and the title I made using my Silhouette and a variety of fonts.
All the Disney paper I used were scraps from other layouts so the patchwork pattern was perfect.
Here is the amazing sketch.  I divided the left mat in two
and the large mat in four getting even more pictures on the page.
I hope you will join us for the challenge and check out what the other designers did at Let's Scrap.  We would love to see what you create with this sketch.

"The Journey" to the Disney 24 hour party

It's time for another quote challenge at  Lasting Memories.  This time the challenge is "The Journey".  So I guess I should explain why my page goes with this theme.  If you don't care just skip the story and check out my layout.
This year my family blessed me with a Disney annual pass so I could go to Disney with them more frequently.  We planned to go for a 3 day trip beginning May 22nd for the 24 hour event.  We knew it would be crowded as it was the opening weekend for the new parades, fireworks and shows.
However, while driving our 2 hour trip to Anaheim, we found out (via Facebook) that Disneyland was maxed out and closed around noon. California Adventure a little later that day.
When we did arrive the lines were out the park and down the street .
It was so bizarre.  People stood in line for hours and hours and Disneyland did not even reopen till about 4 a.m.  Needless to say we watched the fireworks from our hotel
and waited till the next day to go.
We had a blast seeing all the new 60th anniversary decorations and special events.
So here are my pictures of the 24 hour event which we "journeyed to" but didn't get to attend.
Top left pic- Is from Facebook and is the people ready to go in at 6 a.m.  (Not us!)
Top right pic- my family with the sign the next morning for the event.  (Even though it was over!)
Bottom row from left- the logo, the train station and the paper that was passed out showing Disneyland was closed.
The diamonds were cut from Silhouette America.

Join us this week at Lasting Memories for the challenge.  Here is your quote to inspire you,  Remember you still have time to finish the other quote challenges.  Check them out at Lasting Memories.

Hello Ladies (checking out the ladybugs)

I created this layout using the sketch from Stuck on you Sketches for their June 5th Sketch Challenge. This is another awesome sketch by Nanne.  This is the last month for SOUS so make sure to stop by and thank everyone for all the challenges and inspiration  It is so sad to see one of my favorite challenge blogs shut down but I do understand it is a lot of hard work.

The pictures for this layout are of granddaughters Katie 5 and Brittany 3 playing with ladybugs.
The title and large  ladybugs are cut with the Silhouette from Silhouette America.
The border and smaller ladybugs are Martha Stewart punches.  The ladybug paper is old from my stash.  We always call Katie Katiebug so I always buy ladybug paper when I can find it
Here is the sketch for this challenge which goes through the 18th.
