the latest "Moo's card- so udderly cute

Was funny to see a cow challenge as over the weekend I went to a scrap yard at my local LSS  this past weekend and I got a cute cow stamp with two sentiments.  This one the latest Moos and  the other one said You are udderly wonderful.  The cow is from Create A Critter and the frame is from Toy Story.  Added Baker's Twine and little flowers to match the background paper.

Two double page baby layouts of sweet Makenzie

I am trying so hard to get Layouts done with the huge stack of pictures I have from first two granddaughters before the third one arrives in a few weeks.  So today I did 4 layout pages using the sketches from two blogs.
This is the first sketch.  The Paper Variety Challenge
The right side of the two page layout follows the sketch.  I used the tree from Heritage and the word Family.  The left side I cut out Warren from Heritage letters welding it together.  I also punched out dragonflies to go with the design of the paper and added a journaling spot.  Love the colors from DCVW Street Lace Stack.

This is the sketch for the Frosted Designs Challenge
I used a wide Ms Punch for sides and ribbon with tiny baby feet on it.  The Cuts are from Baby Steps and Lacey Labels. Don't Touch is from Mickey Font.  The time cut actually said Playtime and I cut off Play part so the title says Binky Time.   The little ribbon roses I got in $1 section of Michaels last week.

Two birthday cards for challenges and my stash

I made this card for the Peachy Keen sketch challenge this week.  I wish I could say I choose the stamp first and then made this bright cheerful card to match the sentiment.  But no I started with the stripes and the  monster.   I only have faces from the Peachy Keen line.  (Must make  note to get more )  Since I hadn't tried the funny little faces I got for the Mini Monsters I decided to do this cute little one eyed monster.  So I am cutting away make my cute little guy and somehow I got ink on the belly which was orange.  Well since I had stripes left I thought why not perk him up and make that stripes so I did.  I then went to get a stamp I have that says How many are you?   It is in a darling set of things kids say I got at M's recently.  Well instead I found this stamp that went so perfect.  "If you are feeling blue try painting yourself a different color."  And I thought shazam that is so perfect.  In fact it was so perfect even my husband got it.
Now on to card #2 for  birthday stripes and stars challenge at Birthday Sundaes.  This is the first time I have done a challenge on this blog.  But I need to have more cards on hand.  I used a Penny Black stamp I recently bought.  The star, circles are all from George.  Used some more of my cute stripes and polka dot paper.  Punched out some stars with MS punch and then glued stars that were cut out around.  I used Bic and Sharpie markers for the coloring.   Happy Birthday ribbon is from M's.

BBTB2 Challenge Prize watermelon

This is the card I made for the BBTB2 challenge this week.  You were to make a project with the watermelon cut from Stretch Your Imagination.  I cut out the watermelon and added it to the wagon cut from Nate's ABC.  Then I used my Tim Holtz mini rosette maker to make a first prize ribbon for my watermelon.  The little snippets of ribbon were stapled with my mini stapler.  I had seen this done in magazines but never tried it before.

Let Freedom Ring card with Rosettes

There are a lot of challenges this week for projects with red, white and blue, or stars or Stand and Salute cut and on and on and on.  So since I have been in a rosette crazy mood with my Tim Holtz diecut Rosette makers this is what I came up with .  The ribbon and stars are from my stash last year.  Paper is K and Company stack from this year.

I made my SIL a ribbon for being highlighted in the Chirp

Last night I had a great surprise.  It's always nice to get a nice surprise when you have had a rough day.  My shelf that my son in law made me for my E and E2 was highlighted on the Cricut Chirp.  Maile Lei from the Cricut Circle had posted the directions a couple months ago.  Here is the link to the post with my pictures.  So since he is always teasing me about being "Cricut Obsessed"  I made him a giant ribbon saying he was highlighted in the Cricut Chirp.  He will get a big kick out of this.
Now I just have to tell him that I am only 480 points from getting an Imagine on rewards and that I need more punch racks.  LOL  What can I say  I AM CRICUT OBSESSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Layout for Getting Scrappy Challenge- Punches only

This is my layout I made today for the Getting Scrappy Challenge,  The challenge was to do a layout using punches and not die cuts.  I had seen a page in a scrapbook magazine awhile back where they made layers with  punches so I decided to try this.  I cut strips of 1 inch  to some double sided paper and then punched it with the same eyelet lace MS punch.  I then  glued the strips together and cut at 8" for the bottom section and that left me 4 " for the top.  I also double sided punched a 2 " strip to place over rough edges down the middle and added matching ribbon.  I then decided to try another idea I had seen in a magazine where they used a  circle punch to make flowers.  You punch 8 circles.  One is the bottom and the others you fold over.  See third pic.  You then glue seven folded pieces on to circle and top with a button.
Yea more baby layouts done of sweet grandbaby Kenzie.

13 layouts is not an unlucky number

My oldest daughter and I cranked out 13 scrapbook pages for her album one day last week.  I started cutting in the morning while she was teaching Summer School and then we cut some more and glued all afternoon.  Nothing fancy but with two grandbabies in  10 months and the third to arrive next month we are trying to get some pages done. These pages are all for oldest daughter since she was working with me that day.   I have given her my original cricut but with a new baby, teaching and school plus other activities its hard for her to sit down and do this.  Hope we get more days like this during her Summer break.
Here  is a picture of our drying rack.
This was a gypsy file from Circle Blog.

Three Challenge Cards for this week- Check it out

Here are cards I made in the last few days for several blog challenges.
The first challenge at My Creative Time was to make a cricutless challenge using a sketch.   I used a MS punch around the page, a stamp from M's, and a circle and butterfly punhes.  I tried a new folding method on my ribbon and really liked it.   Paper Sweet Nectar K and Company and cardstock,

The second at Frosted Designs was to make a card using black, white and 1 color.    I chose black, silver and white for a birthday card for a 16 year old family friend.  Paper is Rock Star DCVW and cardstock.  I used Rock Princess for cuts but don't tell him.
.
The third is for the Mag Challenge using only the Paisley cart page 39.  I again used Sweet Nectar from K and Company, a stamp from Michaels, buttons, ribbon and a MS punch.

God Bless the USA on Blocks -Home Decor

For this project I went to Michaels and bought a package of thin precut blocks.  The packge is only $2 and comes with circles, squares and rectangles.  I painted them all with dark blue paint and then began decorating.  The words and letters are cut from Storybook.   The 4 inch squares and 4 inch circles were cut from George.  Then I made three rosettes.  I cut 2- 2 x 12 inch strips, punched the edges, scored using the punch as a guide,  and hot glued together.  On the top I added the 3 D star from Stand and Salute.  I added some embellishments and ribbon.  The backs are also covered with paper.  My husband really liked it and we placed it on the "fireman altar" as I call his part of the mantle with all his fireman  chotskies.   I am entering this is the Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge God Bless America.

Sesame Street Seasons layout- Summer Sun

Happy Saturday everyone.
If you are here for the Tristan Birthday Bloghop Click on this link.
This is also the  day for my  post for the Sweet Sassy Design Team . So please enjoy this project too.

Hi everyone this is Suzanne from  Cricutcraftingrammyblogspot.   For the Design Team challenge this week at SweetSassy Diva we were asked to use a cartridge that started with the letter of our name.  I chose Sesame Street Seasons for two reasons.  One I hadn't used it yet and two I knew it would have Summer cuts for a fun layout.   The patterned paper I used was a huge stack I bough a couple of years ago when I first got my E from Me and Big Ideas.
I first cut out all the characters I wanted to use.   All the cut sizes are below  the pictures. I then took cardstock and tore it across Fiskars edge and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder.   I did this in pieces and overlapped using the embossed and deembossed sides to give different texture.
Next I laid out the vellum I got at the local LSS.  It is called Beach Fun by American Traditional Designs.  I then punches out an edge in yellow polka dot paper with a wide MS punch and glued all these pieces down.
Next I got out my chalk, Smooch ink, and Stickles I thought I might use.
Here is the close up of Ernie and the Cookie Monster.  If you look closely you can see how I chalk around cuts, used Stickles and Smooch Ink.  I love how using Smooch Ink gave the characters the look of fur, etc.
For the cookie monster I pop dotted the inner tube.  I didn't like the way his paws looked so I cut them out with an exacto knife to pull them out over tube.  I also used googly eyes for all the characters and even the little duck Ernie is holding.
In addition for Elmo I used plastic from one of my cart boxes to give it the look of a real snorkel mask.
I cut out the beach ball for Big Bird to hold, trimmed around his wings to make it look more like he was holding the ball.
Each word is cut out one time in pattern paper and two times in plain cardstock.  I then pop dotted the words  on two layers.  I also used chalk on the edges of words.   The last thing I did was fill the center of the sun with buttons.  I have seen this on projects in magazines and always thought it was cool so I thought this was a great project for this idea.
Cut sizes:
Big Bird 7 ", the other characters 5 ", Summer word 1.75 ", Sun word  3.5 ", hot word 2 " ball 3 ". Sun 5 ".

Hope you liked this project and tutorial.  Let me know if you have any questions and wishing you all a wonderful fun filled Summer.

Yipee! SIL made me a shelf for my E2 and E

My SIL Robert made this wonderful stand for my E and E2 from directions on the Cricut Circle  from Maile Lei.  I have so much more room now as I love my new E2 but couldn't part with my teal E I got for Christmas.  It is on a metal Lazy Susan so the right side pic is when I am not cutting and the left when cutting.  I used Cricut Vinyl and cut phrases and head from Cricut Everyday.

This is a closeup of the vinyl and also a pic of all the Ikea Bygel rods my SIL has hung for my collection of MS punches. Isn't he the best?   I have had to store the holiday MS punches  in boxes for now but we will soon be making another trip to Ikea to get more rods.

Sea you whale soon cards

These two cards are made using the whale from Create a Critter cut at 3 inches and the wave from Cake Basics cut at 1 x 5 ".  I also added some of the punched out part of wave under whale to make more dimension.  I used a little Smooch ink, gems and googly eyes.  These cards will be sent to Cards for Soldiers.
Entered in  Tacky Tuesday Challenge on facebook- use a play on word and a sea creature.
Also I designed this on Gypsy following the Doubles Challenge at She's A Sassy Lady.

Sunny Days Playtime layout

Today I designed this layout that I am going to enter into a variety of challenges.  Most of the paper is from the Flower Shower Stacks from DCVW that I bought last year.
The Sunny Days Cuts is from Celebrate With Flourish and was cut at 2.5".
The Sun is from Pack Your Bags and was cut at 4 ".
The girl with the ice cream is from Playtime cut a 3 " and the girl jump roping was cut at 4 ".
The grass is from Cake Basics cut at 1" x 12 ".
The trees are from April Showers cut at 5 3/4 " and 6 ".
The sun border was cut from the Cricut Classic font and the flowers for the journaling were cut from Tags, Bags and More at 3 1/2 inches.
I then embossed, cut flowers from a punch, added buttons,  drew accents with Smooch and Sharpies.  I also added Recollection Tear Drop Gems  for ice cream drops. I didn't have yellow so I put yellow alcohol ink on white ones.

Close up of the two little girls.
Bitten by the Bug2- Use the Sunny Days Cut from Celebrate with Flourish
More than Favors- Tags, Bags and More
