My first Greeting Farm stamps and Copic markers

I am so excited to share my first cards using Greeting Farm Stamps and my Copic markers.  I have been using Spectrum Noir Markers for some months now and finally gave in and bought some Copic markers.  One of my friends at the scrapbook store has been helping me
plus I bought some books from Annie's Attic.
We now carry these adorable Greeting Farm stamps at my LSS.  So I am really trying out some of the new techniques I am learning.
For the first one I added a Plumeria from Life's a Beach.  Inside it says Aloha.
For this one I added a MS punch for the lace, and some flowers from Wild Orchid in England.  The branch stamps is a MS punch also and the stamps was from Michaels.
This third stamp is actually from Michaels and I added some
MS punched sand dollars, ribbon and a brad.

Lasting Memories Summer's End Wind Down

I don't know about you  but my Summer break was over for me this week.    My daughter who teaches children with Autism started  her new school year  Monday and I started babysitting
my 21 month old granddaughter Kenzie again.  Boy did she wear me out this week.
Summer went by so fast and
before we know  it Kenzie's little brother will be arriving in early October.

For the Lasting Memories challenge this week
"It's Summer End Wind Down"

I fell in love with this paper by Best Creations called Sunny Days.
The Adirondack chair is from Life's a Beach
I used an EK Success corner punch for the mat.
Also used an MS punch, rick rack, and twine.
The bicycle was cut from Hello Spring

I shared another layout with this Yummy paper last week
for the CWC  Taste of Summer Blog Hop.

I hope you will join us for the challenge this week at Lasting Memories.   Your wonderful creations inspire us every week.  Don't forget it must be a layout and make sure you link up by Saturday.
Happy Craftin!

Oh Baby Blog Hop August 4-6 Day 1

I am entering this in the Cooking with Cricut Anything Goes Challenge for the week of October 5. For the challenge we could select our favorite project of all times or a new project.  I decided to post my Monkey diaper tree as it is the first project that came to mind.   I designed it all myself and am proud of how it came out.
Welcome to the Oh Baby! Blog Hop hosted by EMILY at Create Serendipity.  I have really been looking forward to this hop since I just had my third grand daughter in 18 months just 3 weeks ago.  I am so blessed and spend  a lot of time scrapbooking for them.  I am excited to  see all of the  fabulous Baby themed projects and don't forget to check out the blog candy.  This is a very large hop, so you have 3 days to check out all of the projects! This hop runs from August 4-6, so make sure you check back for new projects each day!  So now we are ready to hop away.  If you found this Blog hop through my blog please start at Emily's blog so you don't miss any of the baby cuteness. So speaking of cuteness here is a picture of my first granddaughter Katie 18 months holding her new sister Brittany.  These girls belong to my youngest daughter and her husband.
This is my middle granddaughter Kenzie who is almost 9 months old and belongs to my  oldest daughter and her husband.

Now on to my baby themed project for today.  I  have been so excited to share this diaper cake I made for  my youngest daughters shower in honor of little Brittany.  The theme for the shower was monkeys so I got the idea of making a tree with monkeys hanging from it.  This is a project where I just started creating and this is what I came up with.  I realize you wouldn't have the exact things I had in my garage but it gives you an idea of what you could create.

Remember you can click on the pictures to make them larger.
1.  I started with a cake circle round I had.  I sprayed it with green glimmer mist to make it green.
2.  I used a cardboard cone and scissor rack I found in the garage.  I added a paper cone on top to form the tree.
3.  I placed diapers newborn around the scissor rack in a circle.  I used most of a 90 box of diapers.  I tied them tightly.  It really helps to have someone help with this.  You need to tie diapers so they are usable afterwards.
4.  I covered  the string  with a brown strip of paper.

5.  I then measure the circle at the top and made a cover for the center.    Later I topped this with little blue stones to make it look like water.
6.  I cut scalloped borders 12 inches long and 3 inches high and then cut down the valley so I could wrap them around tree and turn down to give it the palm tree look.
7.  I used Life's a Beach and cut palm tree top to fit to page.  I think I ended up with 3 each of 2 different greens.  I then folded them in the middle and glued them to cone.  I added  coconuts.
8.  I cut 3 inch monkeys and then reversed to have three backs. I hung with thin thread and added google eyes.
The last thing I did was add a grass boder and then a name banner using Storybook font and some monkey ribbon.

My blog candy for the hop is a $10 gift card of your choice to either Michaels or Joanns.  If however I pass the 300 follower mark I will chose two $10 winners.  So please become a follower and send your crafty friends over to see the hop.   Remember to become a follower and make a comment all three days of the hop to give you more chances to win.

Tomorrow I will share the rest of the things I did for the shower so please come back.
I am also sharing this at My sherri crafts challenge which is party decor.

Summer Fun Blog Hop June 3rd and 4th Day 2

First of all let me thank you for all your lovely comments and let me just say Woo Hoo for passing the 200 followers mark.   I loved ll the awesome projects I saw yesterday and am looking forward to the second day of the Summer Fun Blog Hop.  Thanks Shawnee for organizing this great Blog Hop.  Please see the post from June 3rd to see the Blog Hop rules and details as well as the info on my Blog Candy.  Thanks for joining us.
For the second day I want to show you the gift containers I have made recently.  First of all are these lovely boxes which can be made starting with 1 12 x 12  piece of cardstock and some patterned paper.  I have attached the link to the directions here.  The video will be for a Thanksgiving box and I have seen darling baby gift boxes and birthday gifts using this method too.    The one on the right is empty.  I used paper from Target and cuts from Life is a Beach.  The one on the left has dollar items from Michaels and Target.  I am sorry the picture does not do them justice ( I already gave these away so cannot retake them) but these are quick and fun to make.  Please check out the tutorial
http://cricutchick.blogspot.com/2010/11/thanksgiving-box-video-part-i-and-part.html

The second gift containers I used buckets from Michaels and more cute dollar items from Michaels.  I love the watermelon plates and napkins.  Also included popsicle makers,  corn skewers, hand sanitizer, straws,  silver ware  and a beach ball.  I then made matching tags with  Life is a Beach and stamped Enjoy on them.  The pail tags were cut at 5 ".
Don't forget to leave a comment for both days and become a follower.

More Beach Layouts with Elegant Edges and Life's A Beach

Sorry this was supposed to post yesterday and I just realized it didn't.  I am having trouble getting on to Blogger the last couple days.
On Saturday I posted my layout for the SweetSassyDiva Design Team.  Well I still had pictures left to scrap so I ended up making two more pages. These pictures are of my  granddaughter when she first learned to walk running up and down the beach with mom and dad.  The first LO I used the sketch for the Weekly Challenge on the CC Blog.  The carts I used were Elegant Edges page 26 Heart 10 inch square.  The heart border was cut at 1.75.  The shells from Life's a Beach page 65 were cut at 5 inches and the sand dollar page 66 was cut at 4 1/2 inches.

This last one I used the sand dollars again and the Large MS Scallop Punch cut on both sides of a 2 1/2 inch strip.

Design Team Post Sweet Sassy Diva- Beach Theme

First let me thank Bobby Jo for selecting me to be a part of her Design Team. I am looking forward to sharing with all of you.  For the Design Team Call we were asked to do a Beach themed project. I live and grew up in a beach town in California so we spend a great deal of time at the beach. I selected the DCVW Linen Closet paper and cardstock from Joann's to get the muted blues and whites.

Closeups

I used A Child's Year for the little girl and umbrella cuts and shadows You will find them on page 43 and I cut them at 4 inches. The shells, title and sand dollars were cut from Life is A Beach. The Title words Reflect were cut at 2.92, the shell border cut at 1.90, are from page 67. The sand dollars cut at 1.35 are from page 66. I chalked the edges of the ACY cuts and the title. Thank you for your comments and please let me know if you have any questions.

BBTB2 Challenge- Card using Sunglasses

The BBTB2 challenge this week was to make a project using sunglasses.  I was going to use the sunglasses on Paisley and then I found this cut on Pack Your Bags.  Since I haven't used it yet I cut the flip flops and crab from  Pack Your Bags.  The wave is from Life's A Beach.  I used a MS PATP  for the edges.  Used Stickles on the waves, added tiny flower beads to sandles,  chalked all the edges, added ribbon, and two tiny shells I found on a recent beach trip.

Pineapple card for BBTB2 challenge this week

The challenge this week at BBTB2 is to make a project with a pineapple.  It is amazing to see the beautiful cards the Design Team made with pineapples.  The card I made I designed from Life's a Beach on my Gypsy welding it together.   Thought this would make a cute party invitation.   I cut the entire thing out of orange cardstock and then cut the tree so it fit on back piece inside.  I placed the pineapple cut where the diamond design was.  The umbrella, cherry, straw and lemon are cut from scraps and I used Stickles on  it.  The word party is also from Life's a Beach.
